I tried dinner at Talay Chicago in the West Loop and it’s one of those spots that surprises you with how much good flavor they pack into casual Thai and sushi dishes. The menu blends classic Thai comfort food and fresh sushi in a way that feels relaxed but thoughtful, so whether you start with crispy Crab Rangoon or veg gyoza, there’s always something tasty to dig into.
I went for pad Thai and a couple sushi rolls — the Pad Thai was perfectly balanced with a little spice and sweetness, and the sushi felt fresh and crisp, not overly dressed up. The vibe inside is cozy and laid-back, a good spot for a casual dinner with friends or a chill date night, and service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed.
Overall it’s not trying to be fine dining, but it does deliver flavorful, satisfying bites across both Thai classics and sushi hits, which is a fun combo you don’t see everywhere.

Truly the best Thai food in Chicago
1. Portions are good and worth it for the price
2. Flavor is incredible – always hits 10/10
3. Owners are v nice folks
4. When you ask them to make it spicy, they actually make it spicy
All in all, a great family restaurant in west loop!

Fresh, tasty, fast, and great service. Not as authentic as other places but it does the trick. They also didn’t ask for a tip, not sure if they do that for takeout only.

This place rocks. Food is always delicious whether it’s eaten there or delivered. The baby egg rolls are delicious, and the sushi is super fresh. Black pearl, spicy tuna, and sweet potato rolls are usually our go-tos. Staff is very friendly, and it’s got a really relaxed vibe in the restaurant.

We had an absolute feast! We ordered: a Roku Gin Martini, 2 Play Hard Seltzers, a bottle of Saki, a glass of plum wine, crispy tofu, potstickers, and 4 different sushi rolls(Snow White, Farmer’s Market, Philly, and the Futo Maki). It was all absolutely delicious and fresh! The service was fast and friendly, and we enjoyed our time here very much. This is a fantastic place to eat before an event at the United Center. I highly recommend it!!!!!

This is one of my favorite places! The vibe here is Thai, and the food is absolutely delicious and tempting. The taste never disappoints, and they have a great selection of vegetarian options. If you’re three people, I recommend starting with the veg gyoza and crispy tofu as appetizers. For sushi, the farmers market roll is a must-try for its incredible flavors. And finally, for the main course, I suggest trying the pad thai with tofu and the red curry with a variety of veggies. The staff here is really friendly and helpful when it comes to navigating the menu.

Stopped by Talay Chicago over on Madison for dinner with some friends, and it was a solid choice. We each spent around $35, which covered a couple of dishes and a drink. The Pad Thai was flavorful and had just the right amount of spice, and the sushi rolls were fresh and well-prepared. The Crab Rangoon was a standout appetizer—crispy and filled with creamy goodness. The spot has a cozy, laid-back vibe, perfect for a casual meal. Service was quick and friendly!

We made reservations for early dinner on a Friday night but really didn’t need them. It was empty just before six. I was there with my family of four, baby in a carrier and the staff was very accommodating. I’ve been here several times before, the Pad Thai never disappoints. We ordered veggie soup for my daughter and the broth was delish. We also ordered a few rolls, the shrimp tempura and spicy salmon were our faves. The dimly lit space is very romantic, but casual enough for families. We will be back again!

⚠️DO NOT EAT RAW FISH HERE DANGEROUS! We ate here today, spent $103 and two hours later my bf is VIOLENTLY THROWING UP AND SHAKING. He clearly has food poisoning. I didn’t eat the raw fish but he did. He has NEVER in his life experienced food poisoning like this he is sweating buckets. I’m currently monitoring myself. Pad Tai was good, shame I can’t order it again. Servers were nice, booths were literally peeling off and defiantly need to be replaced. Food is not worth getting food poisoning.
