It’s been years since my family last dined here, so it’s nice to see that New Yong Kang still had good and delicious food. We got the 3 dishes for $42 deal – the beef claypot had tender beef tendons and was not overly salty, the short rib with orange sauce was lightly crispy and yummy, and the chow mein with shrimp was solid and not overly oily. Unfortunately they ran out of pork bone soup, but the dishes were all big in portion, and so we were quite stuffed after the meal. The service was also quite good – our food arrived super quickly after ordering, and the staff was attentive and refilled our tea.

A recent return to a local favorite. Prices are higher and a 15 percentservice charge is added.
Decor hasn’t changed but more importantly, neither has the food.
Given how they do better with stir fry (as in chowh…like chow fun) and deep fried items like salt and pepper pork or fish) eating there is better than getting takeout and eating at home or wherever. The deep fried pork chops and fish came out crispy and piping hot with minimal grease. These are their signature dishes.
Green onion beef, bitter melon beef and that infamous jalapeño and pork stir fry dish are just as good as before.
Portions are slightly bigger and the 2 new waitresses are more attentive.
Overall a good experience. We will return.

The clam are not fresh. Price is not cheap, we ordered 3 dishes for 2 persons are over $63. They are automatically added 15% service charges and cash only without verbal notice or on the menu before when we order the food. Last customer had a right to choose to sit down.

I’m very sad. This used to be a great place and a great value. We haven’t been here for a couple of years but we were so very disappointed on this latest visit. I forgot how large the portions were here so we ordered way too much food for 5 people. We ordered six dishes and three would have been plenty. Unfortunately while the service was excellent and the prices or little, the food was extremely Bland. As an example, we had the salt and pepper pork chops. If no one had told me what they were I would never have guessed that they were the salt and pepper dish. And when it’s done right it has a very distinctive flavor. And that was typical of all the dishes. One of our previous favorites was the spicy crispy chicken wing. These were neither spicy nor crispy and had a very bland glaze on them. The only dish that was decently flavored was the spicy garlic eggplant.
There is no reason to come here unless you are on a very tight budget and you have to feed a very large number of people. And by the way, they don’t take credit cards or checks – cash only. But I have to emphasize that the service was excellent and the staff were extremely friendly. That and the low cost are the only reasons I gave it two stars. Cost of those six dishes was only $85 and that included tax but not tip. What we took home will feed all of us at least two or more meals.

Good food and at a good price! Food was not fancy but filling and tasty. At times, you want authentic Chinese food without having to make the trip to Chinatown — this place does the job. Customer service was great. They even have a simple pork, and chicken, broth soup, which was provided before we had our 3-dish combo served for us. I really enjoyed the home-style cooked meals — comfort food for me and the family. Looking forward to returning soon!

This restaurant is one of my childhood favorites. We would always come here for any family gatherings with relatives. They have reasonable prices and fairly large portions. Their string beans and pepper rock cod are our favorites. I’d recommend checking this place out if you want some good Chinese food.

Came here often as a kid and now the taste pretty is stuck with me. Now I come here as a adult whenever I visit Fremont , great sea fiod and Chinese food. Also they only accept cash and card so be advised.

I went with family to enjoy a big meal but half of my plates were made with old/spoiled ingredients.
I spoke to the server and hostess but they assured me things taste and look a certain way.
After I explained the tastes and textures and I could describ the plates because I have ordered them before, both server and hostess began to tell me it was a different cook.
I asked to speak to the manager, regular hostess and they told me they were not available.
I asked to pay my bill and leave.
They insisted on me ordering something else!
The chef is not using fresh ingredients and is making the plates wrong and they want me to order again.
I was not only upset, I’ve lost trust with this restaurant and refused to reorder.
They insisted I pay for everything except one plate, Half of my order was incorrect or spoiled.
Paid half and left heartbroken and offended, never to return.
Spoiled food.
Dirty restaurant.
Lieing to my face as I explained the issues with the plates until they blame it on new chef and no management.
They have black fuzzy mold in the guests bathroom.
Embarrassing and unhealthy, how are they open?
The bathroom has black mold they keep painting over!
