We were looking for lunch and Melanie’s Family Restaurant was what we found. You have got to eat here!! The service was excellent, and our meals hot and fresh. My husband go the a Big Oklahoma Burger…Big is an understatement!! It was huge!!! I ordered the chicken tenders and fries. These were the biggest chicken tenders I’ve ever seen! I could only eat one and a half! The prices are on point. If you come here and leave hungry it is your own fault!

This little diner has an amazing appeal and atmosphere. It’s right by the state park. It’s very down to earth with great local staff that work incredibly hard and are attentive to your needs. REMINDER THEY ONLY TAKE CASH OR CHECK. However I have been told there is a place down the road with an ATM. Please note that when we went yesterday to my knowledge there was only one waitress who did her very best to seat everyone, take orders, etc. as efficiently as humanly possible. Also if you’re reading this please be kind to your wait staff or anyone in the food industry. Back on topic of the food, my brother got the brunch burger which was amazing and very filling. Do note their portions are generous, as I could not finish my western omelette which was stuffed full of goodness and the size of half the plate. The price are incredibly reasonable considering food costs, service, and portions. The thing I truly love is that they support other local small businesses. They were selling tumblers out of the case by the register, as well as a local photographers work on the wall. Otherwise they were phenomenal 11/10 would eat there again! And will continue recommending it!

We stopped while on our way to a weekend get away in the mountains and the food was so good we stopped on the way back as well. It seems very much a community dining spot, but we were treated very kindly by the staff even if we were tourists. I had the best biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had and I’ve had it from south west WV to SW PA. The sweet tea was spot on. For future trips to this part of the state I will make sure to work Melanie’s into our route.

Great little place across from Cathdreal State Park. Don’t take cards but Store down the street has ATM. Food was great and reasonable. I had a burger and chips. Wife had salad bar (one trip) with soup and chips. Was great as well. Good service . We will stop again when in area.

Old style small restaurant with fenomenal home made food. The prices are surprisingly low comparing to delicious food. Great portions, amazing greavy, large choice of fresh salad: tomatoes, onion, pickles, carrotes etc. If you like farmers kitchen, you will enjoy the way we did.

So yummy!! When I’m in the area this is my go to spot. It’s some cook home style cooking. Made with love! I got the liver and onions, and boy oh boy it was delicious.
They also sell stuff from a local farm, great quality maple syrup that’s cheaper than the grocery store.
When I was there they didn’t take credit cards, because there’s no cell service, but that was a while ago. Might be different now.

This joint is truly awesome. You would never know where it is unless someone pointed it out. But it is well worth the discovery! Roast beef with gravy over homemade bread and mashed potatoes was out of this world and huge portions! Definitely will go back when I’m in that neck of the woods
