Tamboli’s is a place in Memphis I have enjoyed many times. Their pizza is some of the best around and love their service and atmosphere of the dining area. Plus great happy house special and seasonal drinks.

Tamboli’s is definitely an Italian restaurant I would returned to. Great food, a good atmosphere, and excellent dessert, I like the balance of good food and a retro environment. Having a nice variety of Italian food, I would definitely recommend it for anybody looking for a midtown Italian restaurant.

The service here is so consistently poor that I genuinely don’t understand how the restaurant is still operating. My wife and I have visited twice, about a year apart, and on both occasions one of us never received an entrée.

The first time, about a year ago, my wife’s entrée never arrived, and I ended up sharing my pizza with her. We assumed that experience was a fluke and decided to give the restaurant another chance. Unfortunately, the same thing happened again the other night. This time my wife received her entrée, but mine never came.

I’m generally very forgiving as I’ve worked as a waiter myself and understand how challenging the job can be, but having the exact same issue occur twice, a year apart, is both frustrating and perplexing. It’s not possible that this is just a fluke.

After complaining to the waitress that I had not anticipated spending the entire evening waiting for food, we paid our bill, slightly discounted when it should have been comped. I mean, you ruin someone’s evening the least you can do is not make them pay for it! My wife and I went home and made a frozen pizza, which, considering how hungry I was after waiting for 1 1/2 hours was quite delicious.

My advice to the owner of this establishment: hire wait staff with experience. The people you have working for you have a look on their faces like they are in a constant state of terror. Your prices are really high, use some of that money to get seasoned, professional employees. Your life will be much easier and you’ll make more money because you will stop losing (would-be) very loyal customers, like me.

The pizzas are amazing. Maybe the best in Memphis?
I called an order in for pickup that they said would be ready in 15 minutes. My pizzas weren’t ready an hour and 10 minutes later. And there was an automatic gratuity ON TAKEOUT that was an hour late. I don’t think an automatic gratuity should be applied to takeout ever. But definitely not if it’s that late.
I will think twice before ordering again…

After a basketball game, my friend and I decided to visit Tamboli’s. When we arrived, we noticed there was not much good parking, so it took a little while to find a spot. When we walked into Tamboli’s, our hostess greeted us and immediately seated us at our table. The dining area was so beautiful. There were a lot of different interesting paintings around the business. Our waitress quickly took our orders and was patient with us. I was impressed that she remembered our orders without a notepad and pen. It was nice looking at the paintings while waiting for our food. I ordered a custom pizza with Pepperoni and Salami. My friend also ordered a custom pizza but with Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, and Banana Peppers. We both agreed that Tamboli’s has the best pizza in Memphis. The Pepperoni and Salami Pizza is simple, but so good. Their Pepperoni and Salami just work so well with each other. I can’t forget about the crust. The crust helps with adding to the flavors of both the Pepperoni and Salami. In conclusion, everyone needs to try Tamboli’s.

Cute little restaurant with friendly service. We went early so there was no wait or crowds. Came here because I was craving a good vodka pasta, but it was completely overshadowed by the lemon pepper pasta. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t really satiate the craving and just left me wishing I ordered the lemon pepper instead. The arancini was pretty good.

first off the food is great. saw all the photos of the pizza and it didn’t disappoint. wife also loved her fresh pasta vodka vegeterian. hope to come back.

my only one constructive feedback is the service felt a little dazed or spacey. our server forgot our salad (despite recommending to us how good it is when we ordered it) so we cancelled it at the end of the meal, and little things like just not offering to open the door when carrying a car seat (as plenty of staff are around) felt a little off. when we asked for plates with the appetizer the other server just kinda handed two plates to me in hand, which again, not a big deal, just didn’t feel right.

either way was enjoyable to spend our little ones first bday meal and they were cool about a little shouting baby, so i appreciate that. would def try to ask for a bigger table if you have a kid and need a little space.

I no longer live in Memphis, but every time I return, I go out of my way to eat at Tamboli’s. The fresh pasta is incredible; the lemon pepper is my absolute favorite, with the spicy vodka following closely behind. They also have had some notable specials, like a Cajun pasta, that have been excellent too.
The pizza is as you would expect from wood-fired, but they use high-quality ingredients from start to finish. I’ve never had an item here that was just okay; everything is fresh and delicious.

The staff is friendly, attentive, and accommodating, making the whole experience positive every time.

I cannot emphasize enough how delicious the food was at this restaurant!!! The restaurant itself is gorgeous, and the staff is kind and helpful. I have severe food allergies they were able to accommodate no problem! I had the most delicious meal of my entire life here. I had their salmon special, and days later I’m still thinking about it. I’m a Memphis native and can say heartily, this is one of the BEST restaurants in the city!

I’ve tried espresso martinis everywhere, and this one is by far the best I’ve had. Their cheesy garlic sticks are incredible, and the side meatballs with marinara sauce are a must-try. The pasta dishes are cooked to perfection—perfectly al dente, and you can taste the quality in every homemade dish. Highly recommend!
