1st Street Cafe

We had an awesome breakfast. Two of us ate for the same price as if we had breakfast at Valley Dairy or Eat’n Park but the food was such a higher quality. So tasty and the pancake was humongous. We were happy with stuffed bellies when we were done with out meal. This small business is definitely one the community should get behind and support.

First time visit and service was slow. It took about 25-30 minutes to get breakfast. First cup of coffee was served lukewarm and I asked for another cup. Bacon wasn’t cooked enough and fried potatoes had no taste except old grease flavor. Thank goodness the eggs were good and I mixed into potatoes to make them edible. The waitress, Michelle, tried to do the best she could with service but they were short staffed. The owner discounted the bill for the bacon which was nice of her.

The chili was good had to add the amount of salt I like, lol. The meat balls little dry tho very good & huge. Like the new look. Nice, bright & warm. Love the homemade lemon aide oh it’s so good & fresh tasting. U can tell they clean their lemons right. Did not believe how fast I drank down the Lemon aide I just had to get another one.

Great breakfast! Portions are well worth it and for myself and my wife’s breakfast and coffee it was only $20+tip! The coffee was very good and they have a large selection of different drinks. We will definitely be going back again.

After reading the many positive reviews, we were anxious to give First Street Cafe a try. Our experience was very disappointing. After ordering, it took more than 30 minutes for our food to be served. (Our order included soup, salads, and an open faced turkey sandwich – nothing too demanding.) I ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad. After several minutes, the server appeared to tell me there was no romaine lettuce. I ordered a different salad – not a big deal. My boyfriend ordered the open faced turkey sandwich. He was offered chips, fries, or tater tots with his sandwich. He ordered fries but was brought chips instead. When he pointed this out to the server, she brought him an order of fries after a few minutes. They were tasteless. The turkey on the open faced turkey sandwich appeared to be deli sliced turkey and was heated in such a way that it was very tough and difficult to cut. When the check arrived, there was an upcharge for the fries that hadn’t been mentioned by the server. My boyfriend had to leave the table to find the server to refill our water glasses. Maybe it was just an “off” day. We were really anticipating a much better experience.

We ate at 1st cafe tonight for the first time tonight. The food was delicious with plenty to take home. The staff was extremely nice. The desserts are all homemade and amazing. They are open Mondays for dinner which is hard to find a restaurant open on Mondays anymore. 5 stars from me
