Absolutely killer!!! Tried the YumDum Truck at the Apple Fest in Ravenswood and wish I had ordered way more. Their baos are top notch — the Korean Fried Chicken bao in particular… I could eat 20 of them. Perfect crunch, with slaw and sauce that balance everything perfectly.
And those cheesy kimchi balls? Chef’s kiss. Crispy, gooey, and packed with flavor. Super friendly staff and fast service too. Can’t wait to track them down again — easily one of the best food trucks in Chicago!

We used Yum Dum for our wedding and they totally crushed it! We heard for days after how guests enjoyed the kimchi rice balls and the dumplings – it was super easy to manage and we loved all the options Yum Dum had to offer, would highly recommend. Service was top notch

NOTE: This review for Yum Dum is based on my experience at Yum Dum’s concession stand at the Taste of Chicago on 09/07/2024. I had the Korean fried chicken bites. 3/5. It was underwhelming. No real taste. But the main thing was the lack of sauce. It was drizzled on there. The bites were a little dry without the sauce. More sauce was needed. The bites were a little too hard for my satisfaction. I’m not sure if they were fresh or not, but it didn’t taste like it. Service was great. Very friendly representatives. They were playing good music and creating a party vibe. Always nice to have.

They provided food for the staff at Hooper Elementary School today for Staff Appreciation Week. What a treat for our staff members! The food was delicious. Many staff members were talking about how happy they were with their Vegan/Vegetarian options. The tofu, my friend ate, and she was super impressed with the crispiness the crust provided. I partook in the fish and shrimp option and I was thoroughly impressed and full! We both had opted for the sesame noodles which were excellent. Highly recommend hiring for appreciation days or corporate events!!

I tried this truck today at a spot near my office- behind the Prudential building- on E Randolph. I had the $10 dumpling selection with a drink . Meal came with 6 chicken Thai dumplings and 4 spicy cheese rice balls. Both were great but those rice balls were the favorite. Also came with this weird chop/fork so you can eat your dish either way. it was nice for a easy lunch that is not too filling. Food service was quick despite 5 other orders before mine. I will be back to try the Bao sandwich next time!!

We recently had Yum Dum truck at a staff outing and were absolutely blown away! The food was DELICIOUS and the staff and service we received was amazing. They even prepared some specialty vegan options to make sure our team was accommodated. We will definitely be using them again!

Had them at Taste this weekend. My chicken bites were literally frozen in the middle. When I complained they would not refund, would not give any other food, they only wanted to give me more chicken. Which I was concerned about.

We hired Yum Dum for our wedding of 60 guests. We had traded messages with Jeff the owner prior to visiting Yum Dum Truck while they were stationed at an event in downtown Chicago. Upon our arrival to the truck, Jeff couldn’t have been nicer and comped our meal as we tried every item on the menu. We instantly fell in love with the food and decided to move forward with Yum Dum as 1 of 2 food trucks for our wedding.
Jeff was great to work with and it was incredibly helpful that he had worked at our venue before. It truly was a well-oiled machine and he had the process down. We also found the pricing to be very fair. The team that worked the day of our wedding were SO nice and it was really great to know that our guests were taken care of.
