Absolutely amazed at the most mediocre bagel experience I’ve ever had… I’ve literally had bagels out of state that were a million times better than this… all three of us had the same lameness of both quality and quantity… basically a bread ring with a 1/4 teaspoon of peanut butter… the others had cream cheese and looked exactly as pathetic as this one

I live in North Carolina but my parents grew up on Long Island so we visit frequently, and go to this bagel store every time. I have memories of this place from when I was a little kid, and I came in today and it really is still the same as it was all those years ago, which is a good thing because they have the best bagels I have ever had in my life. If you are looking for a good bagel store on LI, I highly recommend coming here for breakfast one morning. You won’t be disappointed!

I would never come back here. The food is fine, but I ordered a bagel with turkey and cheese on it, and it cost me $15. I had to have the man repeat it, because I couldn’t believe what he was saying. There’s no lettuce, tomato, bacon, etc on this, no chips, drink or anything. He looks and goes it comes with a side salad. That little thing? Absolutely crazy. I should’ve just went down the road to Se Port for a full hero with the works at that price. Absolutely insane.

I normally don’t leave bad reviews, but my experience today at this bagel shop was honestly so frustrating that I feel compelled to share.
First off, I noticed the younger workers were being yelled at in front of customers by the older staff. It’s obvious they weren’t trained properly, but they certainly don’t deserve to be treated that way. Seeing them get scolded like that was uncomfortable and unprofessional. They need support, not public humiliation.
Next, my order was completely messed up. I asked for a scooped bagel, but when I received it, the bagel was only half scooped. How do you mess that up? It seems like a pretty simple request, but clearly, attention to detail was lacking.
Then, when it came time to get my food, there was a major communication issue. The workers were loudly calling out the number “81,” but my number was “08.” Naturally, I didn’t get up because it wasn’t my number being called. When they finally realized the mix-up, it became really awkward. How am I supposed to know that “08” somehow means “81”? It was confusing and uncomfortable.
Lastly, I had an interaction with the owner that left me completely stunned. At one point, he had a pile of papers and asked me to take them to his desk. I’m a paying customer, not an employee, and there were clearly staff members around who could’ve helped. This was not only unprofessional but just plain weird.
I won’t be coming back. Poor service, lack of training, and uncomfortable experiences all around. Treat your employees with respect and your customers may respect you too.

These are best bagels around by FAR… And I get around. They are huge, soft and fully dipped in seeds- not some crappy little sprinkling over the top.
They have a huge selection of bagels but my family loves the cheese bagels. Not an option at other places!!
If you like a bagel with chew, one that leaves your jaw hurting a little- this isn’t the spot. These bagels are soft and tender.

We grabbed a half dozen bagels and they were awesome. The everything bagel had a ton of topping on both sides but wasn’t overly salty. The bagels are huge and both soft and chewy.
