That said, the service was very slow, and it took away from the experience. We also asked for a drink with light ice, but the cup arrived filled with ice, which is frustrating when you’re trying to get mostly the drink and not a cup of ice. Small request, but it wasn’t followed.
Food is strong, but the slow pace and missed requests made the overall experience disappointing.
My low rating is mainly due to how our reservation was handled. We made a reservation expecting a crowd, but the restaurant was not prepared. I could have been understanding if there had been an apology, but instead, the manager was dismissive and placed the blame on us, saying we didn’t specify indoor or outdoor seating. I explained there is no option to choose as such but she brushed it off It was too cold outside, which is why I requested indoor seating–but there was no option to choose when making the reservation, automatically it just automatically says indoor as you can see on my screenshot
They seated my party of 5 at a large 10-person table, which was fine, but again, no apology was offered. Our reservation was for 9:30 AM. We arrived at 9:25 but weren’t seated until 9:53, and our order wasn’t taken until around 10:20. The food also took a while to arrive, which I was fine with–I’m a reasonable person–but the lack of accountability and communication was disappointing.
We walked in and had to wait about 3 minutes for anyone to come up and great us. We were seated right by the entrance which was fine but we were so far from all the other tables.. even trying to get more water was difficult due to the distance and lack of staff..
The inside of the restaurant was really nice inside and inviting but it was a week day during lunch and it there was only three tables filled. Two inside and one outside.
We were served water and I asked for a new glass because mine looked like it wasnt cleaned very well..
We ordered the ABC Hash and the Grilled Cheese. The ABC Hash came out warm.. like the food wasn’t made fresh but prepped before hand.. I think the only thing fresh were the eggs. The bacon in it didn’t taste the freshest either.. but the potatoes were good and the eggs cooked almost perfectly. I think the food would have been amazing if it was fresh. The Grilled Cheese was made on sour dough bread with a Parmesan crust and it was actually delicious with good quality cheese.
Overall, Toasted was good and I’d like to try more ln the menu but I think I will try a different location next time.
