Service was great though.. no complaints there
While I was there, a manager working in the kitchen was visibly sick. I later learned that he had been throwing up earlier that same day but was still required to work and handle food. Seeing someone who had been vomiting that day actively preparing food is extremely concerning from a public health standpoint.
Anyone familiar with basic restaurant food safety rules knows that employees experiencing symptoms like vomiting should not be working around food preparation areas. That standard exists specifically to prevent foodborne illness and protect customers. Allowing a sick employee to remain in the kitchen raises serious questions about whether proper sanitation and illness policies are being followed.
It also makes me feel bad for the employee involved. No worker should feel pressured to come in and handle food while they’re clearly sick. Good management should protect both their employees and their customers, and in this case it didn’t seem like either were being prioritized.
Because of what I witnessed, I honestly do not feel comfortable returning to this location. Food safety should be the bare minimum expectation when eating out, and this situation completely destroyed my confidence in the cleanliness and management of this restaurant.
Due to the seriousness of what I saw, I will also be reporting this situation to the appropriate health authorities so that it can be looked into. I hope the issue is addressed because customers should never have to question whether someone preparing their food is actively ill.
My fiance and I went to try this new restaurant on Sunday 1/11/26 and ordered a couple meals and a side of chili cheese fries (a $5 item mind you). We drive 30+ mins home in surfside to find out no cheese fries in the bag. We called- no answer. Kept receipt and went back tonight 1/12/26 to order yet again and ask for the cheese fries to be taken off the bill.
We were told by MANAGEMENT “well should’ve come back yesterday” we explained we live 30mins ONE way there and 30 mins back and already had driven that same 30 mins there and back yesterday. We also called yesterday with no answer and the manager tonight said “yeah the phones aren’t hooked up yet we’re new” so therefore no way to inform the restaurant that they made a mistake. The customer could’ve been saved with a $5 voucher after spending $35 on other food. this is such a joke of an establishment. Will not be returning and will tell others about their bad service and even worst management.
