Food is excellent especially the salsa and chips. The serve staff are friendly, professional, and respectful. It is a little dark at times as the lighting is turned down, but not in a bad way as it lets the wall lights shine and actually add to the atmosphere somewhat more. Overall, enjoyable experience every time.

Had a good first visit to the restaurant. I had the fajitas steak and chicken both. Very good. Love the salsa. Here are some pictures. Sorry I forgot to take pictures of the food. I just Dove right in.

This was a fanatic Mexican restaurant! Best one I’ve been to in Chambana in the 36 years I’ve lived here. The restaurant has a lovely and unique ambiance. The food was prepared and hot. Mine was on fire! I had the Fajita de Pina, a half pineapple filled with goodness, fajita chicken, fajita, steak, chorizo, cheese, and baked in a half a pineapple shell. On the menu it has shrimp instead of chorizo, but I am allergic to shell fish. It was out of this world!! My husband had the Chilaquiles, nacho tortilla chips with steak, cheese and two fried eggs. He loved it! And for dessert a sopapilla with ice cream. Had the perfect amount of whipped cream and sprinkles and the sopapillas were perfect and cinnamony. The portions were huge! I think mine will make four meals! A must try in Champaign (in the old Alexander’s Steak House).

I’ve been there a couple of times with my daughters and we all loved it. We thought it was exceptional, excellent. The food was delicious, the service was very helpful and attentive. We’ll be back again, over and over.
Thank you, Hacienda Agave

Fantastic Mexican food with big portions, friendly staff, and fair prices. Really great interior ambiance with a huge menu. The Quesadilla Brava is particularly fantastic! A great place for dinner with the family. Plenty of seating and no wait even on a Friday night. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved this place! The cocktails were the perfect mix of boozy and delicious. We went for the meat platter and the mixed seafood platter, and both were insanely good. The meats were super tender, juicy, and packed with flavour, and even the rice/beans on the side were amazing. The staff were really friendly, and the whole place has this cosy charming vibe. If I lived in town, I’d be here at least twice a month! Can’t wait to come back and explore more of their massive menu next time I visit Champaign.

I recently dined at the new Mexican restaurant in the city and had an incredible experience! The food was amazing with perfect presentation, quick service, and enormous portion sizes – great for sharing. The horchata was a highlight, and the octopus, cooked to perfection, is a must-try for seafood enthusiasts. If you don’t like seafood Volcano is a good option for you, with chicken, Rib-eye steak, and shrimp. The staff was very friendly, the decor was impressive, and the restaurant was clean. Looking forward to coming back to explore more dishes!

We had a great experience here. The atmosphere is very cool. The food was very good, maybe not excellent, but certainly better than average. The agave and lime margaritas we had were fresh and tasty. The meat was cooked well and everything came out hot.

I did have to add hot sauce, but that’s personal preference of course, just something to notice. Maybe they are used to catering to gentler palates lol.

Our server was a bit brusk , but present and quick to respond. We felt a little rushed when ordering and he cut us off a couple times when speaking. He wasn’t rude; but just seemed rushed.
I wish we could have gone more than once; the menu seemed to have some really cool options and it was tough to choose. When we are back in the area we will definitely stop in again.

They even had a not so common tequila that we enjoy. I wish we would have tried dessert but we were really full from the meal.
We had a great time, and enjoyed the food a lot.
Which made it super disappointing when we lost our leftovers at the hotel 🙁

I wanted this to be great. It’s very bland. I’ve had great Mexican food here in the US. It comes from someone that wants to share their heritage.

Rolling Keto in the world of Mexican food is usually flavorful. Speaking a little Spanish usually gets a little understanding that flavor isn’t scary. I can’t eat rice or tortillas, so I expect flavor every where.

These guys are afraid of their heritage. Their Abuela would be embarrassed.

The guy at the bar with the Navy hat has been around. Talk to him, understand that he’s unable to eat some of the stuff you have.
