This was my first time trying Uzbek food, and this place is an amazing spot to experience authentic flavors. The meals were excellent — pilaf and mantı were my personal favorites. The menu is quite long, so there are many different dishes to explore, and the ayran was refreshing and delicious.
The staff were kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. At one point, someone was even singing, which made the atmosphere feel warm and lively. The restaurant is decorated with traditional Uzbek objects such as instruments, clothing, and carpets, and these details really bring the place to life. For a moment, I truly felt like I had stepped into Bukhara.
Overall, it’s a beautiful and culturally rich place — definitely worth a visit and highly recommended.

This year, on the first day of September in honor of Uzbekistan’s thirty-fourth anniversary of Independence from the Soviet Union (Russia), I had Uzbek cuisine for the very first time at this place; this was my first time having Central Asian food apart from Afghan food.
Additionally, this is my first time celebrating Uzbekistan’s Independence Day at an Uzbek restaurant.
I enjoyed the tandoori crispy samsa filled with pumpkin, the cheburek, and ayran (a yogurt beverage with mint leaves), and, most of all, I savored the national dish of Uzbekistan: Samarkand Plov.

I recently had dinner at Old Bukhara, and this place truly exceeded all my expectations! ✨
The atmosphere is incredibly cozy — the interior is decorated in the best traditions of Uzbek culture: carpets, patterns, warm lighting, and national music make you feel as if you’ve been transported straight to Tashkent.
The food was absolutely amazing. We tried beshbarmak, solyanka, khash soup, and Olivier salad — everything was perfectly cooked: rich, flavorful, and full of that authentic homemade taste. You can tell the dishes are made with care and respect for tradition.
All the food is halal, fresh, and hearty, with generous portions. The service was fast and very friendly — the staff were attentive and welcoming.
Overall, this is one of those places you immediately want to come back to. I’ll definitely return to Old Bukhara to try more dishes and enjoy that warm atmosphere again!

We’ve been to this Uzbek restaurant twice now, and both times we were absolutely impressed. The food is incredibly delicious, flavorful, and clearly made with care. What really amazed us is that our 12-year-old son, who is usually very hard to feed, ate everything he ordered that alone says a lot. Both visits were in the evening. If you don’t enjoy loud music, it might not be your vibe, but we personally love the atmosphere it feels lively and fun. The waitstaff are very attentive, friendly, and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. We actually drive here from New York City, and it’s 100% worth it. This is a place we truly enjoy and will definitely keep coming back to.

Had a good experience at Old Bukhara. I never had Uzbek food, so this cuisine was completely new to me and I was very intrigued. I was highly recommended this restaurant. The servers and staff were really nice. We asked for specific accommodations and they were able to provide them. The food is also halal. The Cheburek was so delicious, as was the Plov. My favorite dish was definitely the Chicken Tabaka with fries. It was so flavorful and cooked just right. I would recommend a visit, and I look forward to returning to try out more of the menu.

We stumbled upon Old Bukhara on a Saturday without a reservation and had never tried Uzbek food before. Glad we took the chance. The Samarkand plov was hearty and full of flavor, and the tashkent tea was a lovely way to round out the meal. The cuisine has a warmth and depth to it that we weren’t expecting, and it left us wanting to come back and work through more of the menu.
A couple of things held it back from a full five stars. Because we were walk-ins on a busy Saturday, we were seated in the basement rather than the main dining room, which lacks the atmosphere of the space upstairs. Understandable, but worth knowing if you’re planning a special outing. More importantly, the servers weren’t particularly helpful in guiding us through the menu. When you’re completely new to a cuisine, a little guidance goes a long way, and we mostly had to figure things out on our own.
Still, the food more than carried the evening. Worth making a reservation and going back with more people so you can try a wider spread.

Atmosphere is 10 stars when DJ Alex is in residence. He keeps the party going, adjusting to the crowds preferences and doing an excellent job mixing up old, new and worldly to keep everyone on the dance floor. It was very sad without him for a while.
Food is always abundant and good. Kompot is the best. Kamilla and the rest of the staff is amazing too.

Went with my wife for dinner and had an amazing experience. The food was out of this world delicious. The service was great. The atmosphere was amazing. They had a singer and later on a DJ playing all types of music (all good songs). I would definitely recommend this restaurant. We had a great time and will go back again soon.

It was my first time dining at old bukhara with a party of 20, and i have to say the food was phenomenal!.. the service was very bad to say the least. It was a busy Saturday night but bringing one main dish out ( samarkand plov) for everyone to eat and then appetizers ( beef dumplings- super delish) half hour after the first main dish arrived.., all the other main dishes arrived every half hour if u can believe that. The only saving grace was that each item was super delicious and i forgive the service because of that. We had :
Samarkand plov 9/10
Beef dumplings 10/10
Beef noodles 8/10
Beef skewers 9/10
Chicken skewers 8/10
Uzbek tea 10/10
Would have liked to have some kind of sauces or condiments with the food.

Great food. Reasonable Prices. Service needs a little bit of improvement. Came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Happened to be on Wednesday night. Place wasn’t packed but there were some customers there. So the restaurant is not much for decor IMHO but has excellent food. Even on Wednesday night. Chuchvara, Lagman, Shurpa, Achik-Chuchuk, Various Kebabs, Beef Tongue, and most importantly Cheburek. The only dish that can go wrong like a puffer fish. Underdo it and it’s inedible, overdo it the same, wrong oil or too much oil and your customers will run screaming for the hills. This was actually done so well we went for seconds, light and crispy on the outside and nice and juicy inside. I’m drooling just writing about it…. A great place to visit, service on the slow night could’ve been a little better but I can’t really complain.
