We got the Empanada Trio to try. It comes with a side, and we chose the coleslaw. The empanadas were okay, but we wouldn’t get them again. We both liked the coleslaw. I got the Campero Chicken Sandwich meal with French fries. The sandwich had a large piece of chicken breast meat that I thought was very good. It doesn’t come with anything on it except pickles, so the sandwich tended to be dry. The manager suggested getting one of their sauces to go with it and I opted for ranch dressing. The sandwich with one side is $8 and does not come with a drink. It’s not my absolute favorite chicken sandwich (there are a lot of options out there), but overall, a pretty good sandwich, just don’t forget to add the sauce! My wife got the 2-piece meal with French fries. The chicken was disappointing small, almost like a large chicken wing! Again, the chicken was okay. The 2-piece meal was $7.50 and does not come with a drink. With today’s high prices, it’s hard to complain too much since both of our meals cost about as much as one meal at other fast-food restaurants.
We are glad that we stopped at Pollo Campero and gave it a try. This restaurant chain started in Guatemala and offers some unique side options and flavors, like sweet plantains or yuca fries. If you like chicken, then it is worth stopping in and giving Pollo Campero a try.
Fried chicken was a little too salty. But everything else was good
I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich through the drive through and got grilled chicken legs. I went back in and got my actual order. When I got my order and got back to my car, i noticed there was like no sauce on it at all… On the bottom there was no sauce, so it was only the 3 tiny spots on the top. Definitely not at all enough or even attempting to match the picture of the food at all.
The restaurant inside was clean and well kept, so I give them credit for that. Also the people we nice and we’re quick to remake my meal even though it sucked.
Again, overall I don’t recommend when churches chicken has better spicy sandwiches that gives more sauce.
It took a little longer to arrive than we expected but the items looked great. Good size piece of chicken and a nice soft bun. My letdown was in the “cayenne and habanero spicy sauce” as there was little of it. I even went to the cashier to ask if I could get some on the side. He told me he couldn’t but gave me what I believe is Signature Campanero sauce (as it tasted similar to Chick-fil-A sauce.) They could have run out, I guess. I would probably have given it a 5 star otherwise. The Mac & Cheese was among the best fast food version I’ve tried.
I wish that I didn’t start eating before taking the photo but, if comparing to the non-spicy sandwich, you can make an educated assumption. I can see some promise here and hope to give it another try.
