This is the best BBQ spot I have ever had! WOW In my 40 yrs I’m impressed. We will definitely be back when we come to town from Sacramento. We had to buy a bottle of that bbq sauce to bring home it was so delicious. The staff was super friendly. Highly recommend just go

We had Crossroads BBQ cater my wife’s birthday party this past weekend, and the food was an absolute hit. We ordered pulled pork, chicken, and brisket, along with their fancy salad, mac and cheese, and BBQ bean. Every single dish was phenomenal.

The meats were incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked (the brisket in particular disappeared fast), and the sides were just as impressive. The mac and cheese and BBQ beans had people going back for seconds and thirds. Multiple guests came up to us during the party asking where the food was from because they loved it so much.

If you’re looking for high-quality BBQ that will impress a crowd, Crossroads BBQ absolutely delivers. We couldn’t have asked for better food for a special celebration and would 100% use them again.

Came for a day trip hike and found this place. The smell of the smoker was amazing. We got the 3 meat trio, brisket was 9.3/10, tri-tip was 8.0/10, and pork ribs were 7.8/10. We got mac and cheese as the side 9/10, and baked beans 5.5/10. Mac and cheese had an alfredo taste must try. Amount of food was worth the price based on the area. $35 for the 3 meat trio. I’ll be back to something different.

The service was friendly. The food was good! The Brisket was tender. The Mac and cheese had a little too much garlic. The grilled cornbread was a tasty twist on standard cornbread. I’d go back if I was looking for BBQ in the area.

To me this is really good BBQ, especially the brisket! Now mind you, I’ve eaten a lot of BBQ in the Carolinas, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, and Texas…and generally, with the exception of a very few places…California and most of the country doesn’t do BBQ very well.

So, all that said, this place loses 1 star because not everything is great. Their burnt ends are usually over sauced and ridiculously sweet. The chicken is never consistent… sometimes is amazing other times dry. The pulled pork is often underseasoned and bland…still decent… just not as good as it can be.

Anyway, I’m never unhappy with the food, but I only stick to specific things, now that Ive tried most of the menu, and leave the rest.

Brisket, Mac and Cheese, Ribs, Baked Potato, Hot Links, ,

Tri-tip, Breakfast Tacos (eat there, don’t carry out), Garlic bread ,

Everything else is …except…

The Beans, Burnt Ends, Potato Salad, and Cole Slaw

As for the service…they’re great, friendly, and accommodating… however, they sometimes get a bit lost when it’s busy and make mistakes, especially with the carryout. So, take the loss of a service star with a huge grain of salt.

Last…apparently this is part of a chain of BBQ places…affiliated with the same family. Salinas City BBQ, Aptos BBQ, BBQ 152 in Gilroy, Wagon Wheel In Mountain View, Mission Street BBQ in Santa Cruz, Trail Dust in Morgan Hill, and about 5 or 6 others. Those others are also hit or miss…but Carmel has the best Brisket…Salinas better ribs and beans…but the rest at the other places I listed are very similar…and all decent.

Damn…now I want some brisket…

I think this is my first review with 1 star but i just can’t find anything positive to say about the food at that place. Food wasn’t tasty (cold, chewy, bland in taste, garlic bread was burnt in all 3 plates which we ordered, iced tea spoiled, we weren’t able to finish our food) and it was total waste of money (expensive food plus minimum tip was 15%)
I am really sorry but that was our experience and I can’t recommend that place. We left hungry.
People working there were nice and polite.

In a word: decent the food here was good. The brisket was tender and could be cut with a fork! The pork ribs were cooked tender and tasted flavorful. The tri tip was decent but I thought could have been a lot more tender! The hot link was nice and charred the way I like it and had a nice flavor! The sides were also nice like the beans, that had chucks of tri tip I believe and were very saucy, the mac and cheese tasted decent, the potato salad was good! I did really like the bbq sauce, which they offered to heat choices, spicy and medium. Also, the coleslaw was good but I really enjoyed the cornbread. It had a nice crust on the bottom that reminded me of how I make my own cornbread in a cast iron skillet! Very tasty so nice that my daughter and I went back another day. Not bad Carmel! Your town knocked it out of the park. I would say, your bbq is better than a lot of so called bbq restaurants I have been to. Good job!!!

I ordered a tri-tip meal to go. Got home and opened the box and no tri-tip is present.
I called to let them know I did not have any meat inside the box with the tri-tip but in fact received everything else.
The person on the phone curtly informed me that he “put it in the box himself”. I told him I didn’t appreciate being called a liar and he said he was not calling me a liar though by saying he put it in the box himself is implying that I must not be being truthful. This is the same restaurant where my sisters order was given away to someone else and then we had to wait for it to be remade.

He then asked me what I wanted him to do about it. I said I’d like to come get the replacement on another day because I live too far. He said he would just give me a refund. I will wait to see if that comes through but it isn’t about the $10 meal. It’s about the poor customer service in response to the situation.

The fact that they gave away my sisters food to the wrong person and then had to remake that already tells me they weren’t paying attention. Then to tell me they put my food in the box themselves but there is no meat in this box. Just macaroni, a piece of bread and 2 containers of bbq sauce.

Disappointing as I believe they are part of the chain with a location in Salinas that I visit often.

The “1/2 pound” of brisket was at least 50% fat so, basically four ounces of brisket for $25 with tax and tip. Works out to $100 per pound of meat. Not bad work if you can get it. Regrettably, my order was to go, so I didn’t notice the subterfuge until I got home.
