Been to this wonderful place with awesome drinks, atmosphere and mole twice. The staff project such warm, friendly and savvy energy that on top of the excellent food that seems to show up fast, dovetails nicely with the two different seating areas.

The primary seating area is forward of the bar and kitchen. I love the interior design and the subtle choices. It is perfect level of closeness.

There is a second seating area outside which we used on a recent visit at the start of November 2025. It is long with narrowest part toward the front and expands backwards. It is covered and has radiant heaters on the wall. Brighter and more festive in lighting.

I am currently on a “got to have” path with mole sauces and they have one that is best I have found so far in my few north eastern traveling.

I can not wait to go back.

The mole pablano was ordered without any raw dairy (butter, cheese, sour cream, etc.).

This place is simply amazing and this is coming from someone that isn’t easily pleased. The drinks and food items are consistently of the utmost quality. I’ve never had a bad meal and have been many, many times. I almost hesitate leaving this because I never have trouble getting a table and don’t want it getting too packed! But the food is genuine authentic mexican. I can’t rate this any higher.

Wonderful experience at Acitron last night! My husband and I brought our 2 children on the anniversary of our first date at Acitron, 10 years later. The food and service were fantastic! Always delicious & authentic food. Our waitress even sent out a dessert in honor of our anniversary. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough!

Our steak fajita was well prepared & delicious. The accompaniments, however, were basic & small.
The restaurant was understaffed for the 6:30-7pm Saturday crowd. Their salsa’s spicier than we like, but our request for sour cream went unmet. We probably waited at the table close to 20 minutes before our meal came & we’d finished the free chips & salsa long before then, but they never offered us more.

They were really welcoming when we came. We got seated right away even they are busy. We got ground beef quesadillas and tacos. Tacos’ tortilla wasn’t my favorite but quesadilla was good. Their bathroom was nice and clean. I recommend overall.

In the winter months with the alleyway closed it can get a little crowded because it’s a relatively small place. But the food is exceptional. And the service is always really good. My wife and I come here to escape the house (and kids) from time to time. Though, my daughter loves going to so we have to keep it a secret lol

Acitron is a top notch Mexican restaurant in a pretty space and excellent service. The seating is comfortable and tables are not too close, so a pleasant vibe for a busy place. We were five at dinner on a Sunday night. Cocktails were very pretty, and on the table were salsa and chips. We added guacamole, medium spice and stuffed plantains, all delicious.

Entrees show how much effort goes into real Mexican cooking, with complicated saucing and slow cooked meats. Each plate comes with a choice of sides, the usual rice and beans but also Mexican street corn, very nice. Service was friendly and brisk.

Children would love this place. The menu would work for vegetarians and vegans, too. On an earlier visit I had a salad and the kitchen accommodated the changes I asked for.

On street parking was easy, and the restaurant is handicap accessible.

The meal I had was good to very good. Not great however. The guac was excellent but not at all spiced as was requested, the chile relleno was very good except the sauce was a bit flat, the chips seemed ‘manufactured’ rather than home-made. I’ve spent many years in Mexico so come with that experience as comparison.
