Aperto nel 1827, il Ristorante Paoli divenne molto noto agli inizi del ‘900, ponendosi subito come un punto di riferimento nel panorama culinario fiorentino. Nel 1909 fu interamente ristrutturato in stile neo-gotico, dando vita così alla struttura che ritroviamo ancora oggi. Nel 1916 Carlo Coppedé dipinse le lunette locate al suo interno ispirandosi al Decameron; nel 1919 fu la volta di Galileo Chini, che affrescò la celebre “Saletta delle rose”. Da segnalare anche le ceramiche Cantagalli: quest’ ultime riportano gli stemmi dei comuni toscani di allora. Storico luogo di incontro di intellettuali (Leoncavallo, Puccini, Marinetti, Ungaretti), il Ristorante Paoli conserva il gusto e le emozioni della cucina toscana.

Anmar was an incredible waiter from start to end – caring, diligent and responsive to all our needs. It was a friend’s birthday and he organised a special surprise for the table, making it a memorable birthday for her. The food is incredible. We had the best Bistecca here and the wine was extensive. He gave a great alternative when the one we wanted ran out so we appreciate his attentive service. This restaurant has a warm and vintage atmosphere that is perfect for any dinner occasion. Must come! Don’t forget to make a reservation.

We enjoyed the Bistecca Chianina, so tender and flavorful. Our grilled vegetables were plain but a drizzle of olive oil improved their flavor, and the spaghetti vongole was excellent but wished it was served as a separate course. By the time I ate some of the bistecca and vegetables, the pasta was a bit cold, but still quite delicious. Terrific service, even though our 6:00 reservation did not go through, we were seated within minutes. The fresco reproductions are very tasteful and interior very well designed, the very narrow spiral staircase to the WC led to some spontaneous conversations! And best of all our waiter was attentive, efficient, and very charming, highly recommend.

I had an amazing experience at here! Ammar’s service was top-notch—he expertly guided us through the menu. The Florentine steak was fantastic (our first time having it!), and the beef carpaccio was the best I’ve ever had. The Mille-Feuille dessert was divine! While staying in Firenze we tried many restaurants and mostly very good experience in food for steak, pasta and rissoto. But Paoli is the best one, and the rare T-bone steak with safran rissoto combination was the best food in my life – dare to say! a bottle of red wine on your taste will make your day ever!
