Bustling chain serving Cajun-style seafood in a casual space with a nautical vibe.

This was once a favorite. So we went for our anniversary to remember those back in the day times. They didn’t hit the mark. The crab was good and meaty. I was disappointed by the garlic noodles which once was delicious. This time they were tasteless oily noodles. As you see in the picture I tried to revive them by adding sauce from the bag and crab meat. When we tasted one of the TINY pieces of garlic you could not taste the flavor of garlic. How is that possible unless it was old. The potato was aldente (not cooked). The price is higher and you receive less. We ordered two 1lb meals of crab legs snow and king, and between the two we did not get one whole sausage link. That is just wrong. Cutting corners like this is diminishing your quality. Our server was as nice as he could be. The place is always clean and orderly. It’s the food which missed the mark. For the money spent including tip $200 this simply is not acceptable.

This is our Go-To seafood boil and favorite KC in SoCal. Because Nine times out ten the sauce is always on point never too watery and seafood is fresh never served over cooked or like it died before cooking (shell hard to peel sticks to meat) and the Cajun fries are just nice and crispy just how we like ‘em. However they can improve on refilling the water and coming by our table a little more often. Other than that we’re here like once a week four times a month! Best time to come is before 630pm on weekdays and before 5pm on weekdays or else they’ll be quite a wait.

The food was ok, BIG shrimp, nice size crab legs, sausage was good, corn was good, potatoes was good, did not really care for the dried oysters, tilapia was good, rice was good. The boil sauce tasted more of a tomato base instead of the good ole Cajun butter seasoning spice. For that reason, I had to drop a star. I didn’t care for that tomato base boil flavor.

We enjoyed our really messy, super buttery, but ultimately delicious meal here. The guys that work here are nice, all very young, but attentive. We did get there at exactly 8:15, which is their last seating time. There were two other tables, one other that had just gotten seated before us. The menu looked complicated, but we ended up picking the Combo #2 which let us pick some crab legs and two other choices: we got shrimp, (the ez peel for $2.00 extra) and clams. They bring it to you in a bag and then you just dive right in and use lots and lots of napkins.
Wish the sausage pieces were bigger, but overall the entire bag held yummy things! We will most likely get more spice next time, we went with mild mild and garlic butter, but that was just pure butter taste.
Good atmosphere, nice people, and pretty quick service. Just remember, they close the kitchen at 8:30 so get there earlier than we did if you need extra time to view the menu and choose.

We came in as a party of six, including a toddler, and the experience was underwhelming from the start. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet service felt distant and inattentive. What stood out immediately was the bib situation this type of seafood spot usually gives everyone a bib, but we noticed only certain tables got them. We didn’t ask, but it still felt like a miss.
Then there’s the napkin rationing. Every time we asked, they’d hand over just two napkins as if they were trying to save paper at the expense of basic comfort. For a messy seafood meal, that’s just not it .
The food itself was average, nothing memorable. The ambiance didn’t help either low energy, not much vibe. When we asked about specials, we were told they’re only available before 6pm. That felt like a bait-and-switch, especially since there was no signage or heads-up.
What really made us uncomfortable was the automatic 18% gratuity added to our bill. They counted our 2-year-old nephew as part of the party, which felt unfair. We’re happy to tip for good service, but this felt forced and not earned.
Bottom line: we won’t be coming back. If you’re looking for better food, service, and transparency, I highly recommend Claws Restaurant instead great experience

We had three pounds of shrimp with sausage, potatoes, sweet potato fries, and a sprite. They were kind enough to seat us even though we arrived a few minutes after 8:15 pm. Last call is 8:30 pm since they now close at 9:00 pm.

Kickin crab definitely a good alternative to boiling crab. Flavor and everything are good. Prices are decent too. Crawl fish were huge and definitely tasted fresh. Overall great place to eat.

I came in with my wife to have dinner at 925pm and the guy said they were closed. He said they did their last order. Clearly it states that restaurant closes at 10 pm so why not give service? I dont think is right that they don’t give service to anyone at 930. Very disappointed cuz it was my wifes birthday. Not coming back again.

We love the Kickin style sauce so much .. the crawfish is fresh even frozen. Big and juicy. The store at McFadden – Magnolia even has special promotion / happy hours with discount for crawfish/ shrimp / mussels etc..
our kids love to it here when they get back from school. They could eat every days

Crawfish was frozen which is completely fine but the crawfish heads were black and they had a spoiled taste to some of them. I eat crawfish once a month and never had this experience with crawfish. The employees offered a discount but we couldn’t eat any of the four pounds crawfish. The cashier was kind enough to remove the crawfish from our bill which we appreciated. I also have been to this location a few times and their food was always delicious.
