Wanted to try it out because of a recommendation. Authenticity expectations bar is low in such far away places like Alaska but I was not disappointed. I had the Lengua Tacos and they we perfect and well portioned. We also tried the Birria tacos and it was also great but they didn’t have the consume or caldo for dipping. The have a salsa bar and the decorations are better than other joints of a similar caliber so it’s appreciated. There is no service just the cooks who make amazing food and don’t want to talk to you which is fine.

I really enjoy the pozole here. I like to order extra limes. The last time I did, I was given a whopping 4 slices of lime and charged an additional $4.43. It’s supposed to come with lime so I was charged over two dollars for each slice of lime. I don’t mind paying extra but two dollars per slice is extreme considering a whole lime is less than a dollar.

I’ve gotten takeout here before and been satisfied. The food is tasty and the service friendly. However, check her bags before you leave. I didn’t, and when I got home, I was disgusted and angry! I won’t let this happen again! If a large order means my containers are going to be jammed into a bag carelessly, I won’t order so much or will pack my own! These are only 3 of the cartons crushed by a large container of heavy soup. Containers were packed crookedly so all the food slid to one side and mounted on top of each other.

It’s good! Now I can say I’ve had tacos in Alaska!
Tortillas are corn, less lard than a California or North Texas carne asada taco. It’s probably healthier this way I guess but if you’re having tacos, healthy isn’t the first word that comes to mind. Overall it satisfied my taco fix!
The chips are good! They’re served with a large helping of sharp cheese and a dollop of blended guacamole. Best eaten while hot!
I visited Taco King because its name reminded me of King Taco, a tasty food chain found in So Cal. I grew up in Long Beach and lived near Pomona, California for decades and I’ve been fortunate enough to appreciate an Anchorage interpretation of the carne asada taco!
What was really amazing was the pickled carrots!!! It’s been more than 3 years since I’ve had pickled carrots and these look and taste exactly like they do in So Cal, except they’re sliced with smaller carrots. The pickled onions are amazing too! Maybe I could’ve looked harder when I lived in North Texas – I did not come across pickled carrots, even at the local hole-in-the-wall near my home that had really tasty street tacos

Employees were rude to my dad when he was trying to order our food. They also overcharged us and didn’t give us a receipt. We didn’t figure it out till we got home. Manager needs to do better at hiring just anyone.
Update: Just finishing my food and I find a dog hair (we ourselves do not own dogs)

Used to be good. Gave them 2 more chances they are the worst with so many other options. Don’t dare complain either or else apparently. Wow horrible

Not friendly but the amount of food was extremely small and no meat. Didn’t pay for that small portion
