What a great dining experience all around. I never write reviews but this place made my day with its amazing food and even greater service. The staff made me feel like family, everyone was extremely friendly and caring. I didn’t have to wait long at all and the staff was very attentive. You can see how much dedication the chef puts into every detail of the meal. Chef Javi took turkey and rice soup to a whole new level by adding an Asian flare to the soup, making it feel like comfort food. The dishes all exceeded my standards. Our server Tina was wonderful and very informative. Was definitely the best lunch spot I’ve ever been to.

First time there the other morning. Work all over North Jersey, and my first time here. It’s like a time machine as it’s so refreshing and old school. It’s all perfect and updated, yet kept old school. You don’t find places like this anymore. But? The best part? The Breakfast was DELICIOUS. I’m only sorry I’m not in the area much, but this will be my ONLY breakfast spot every time I AM in the area. Amazing. I just wish all of America was more like this place.

I recommend this place constantly to friends and colleagues – I’ve never met someone who wasn’t thrilled with the quality of the food, the charm of the space, or the attitude of the staff.
Their fresh bread and baked goods are divine (jalapeño cheddar biscuits are so good.
The owner Sam is an absolute doll who really puts his heart and soul into his establishments. We love saying a quick hello – he always makes sure we had a good experience. Keep up the good work!

I always love checking out a new breakfast spot! The food was great and the prices were reasonable. However it was LOUD inside, we even sat in a room all by ourselves but it was stark and loud. I think some cute decorations and more of a “general store” vibe would go a long way to complement the amazing food! The smoked pork belly on the Benedict was incredible!

We love the Oldwick General Store. It’s a quaint country restaurant with wonderful food, good service……a lovely place to gather with family and friends.
Tonight we so enjoyed the monthly Chef prepped Gourmet Corn and Tomato dinner outdoors. Seated at long tables with wonderful people who gathered for this beautiful communal dinner. The five course meal was a delicious 5 star event. The fabulous chef, Sam Freund made it a memorable evening. It’s gonna be tempting not to go every month.

Haven’t been here for 15+ years…used to come regularly thru the ’80’s when worked nearby. Meh ..took home a container of turkey veg soup. $16… barely worth $6 imho.Tasteless, overcooked vegetables..pfff.
$43 lunch for 2 b4 tip was way overpriced. Service ok.

This is what’s it’s all about. An old school General store that delivers on a high level. The Food, service and atmosphere is top notch. Blueberry pancakes rock..can’t wait to get back here again. Must stop if you are passing through town..Parking is at the back of the building.

Great tasting variety of meals. The bakery is a great stop to bring home some baked goods. We make the Oldwick General Store a stop for lunch when we have a drive with the Fiat Club America car club. Its been our stop for over 20 years.
