Placed order on doordash , new to the Buffalo area so wanted to try some soul food. I got the haddock fish dinner with 3 sides , drink and desert. I chose baked beans, collard greens with turkey , Mac and cheese ( I ordered extra), cheesecake and a ginger ale.

The food was decent ,but not good enough to be $30-40 worth. The Mac and cheese was okay. The cheesecake was hot. Cheeswcake is better when cold. The baked beans were normal ( nothing special ) , like canned beans. The collard greens didn’t have turkey in them and had no flavor whatsoever. The fish was dry with no flavor. I more than likely won’t order from them again.

Keep pushing and doing the best that you can do . thank you !

First time I ordered I had got some honey Cajun wings and they were great. Second time I ordered not so great…The lady who runs this establishment has a nasty attitude and argues with her customers.I had ordered a fish dinner it came with 3 sides, banana pudding and a bev. I also added an extra side of Mac for my baby that I never received. I called in and advised her she never packed my additional side of Mac n cheese and that I wanted to come pick it up. She says “I know I put it in there but you can come get it.” I’m telling her there is only one side of Mac in here not 2, she starts arguing me down that she knows she packed it. I brought everything back exactly how it was packaged not even 15mins after leaving the place, and showed her that there was no additional side of mac and she continues to say she knows that she packed it. The person she’s on the phone with proceeds to say “people always trying to get over on a something.” How am I trying to get over on something I never received boo ? It’s around dinner time and I could understand the slip up, but take accountability shit happens! At this point my appetite is lost and I’m tired of going back and forth, I leave the food that I ordered at the establishment. I won’t be giving them any more of my money the disrespect dished out to the customers is crazy.

The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. If you’re craving genuine soul food Flavors of Jean is the place to be. I can’t wait to come back!

I got the fried haddock dinner with mac and cheese and green beans. Also got some banana pudding for dessert. All the food was fantastic. I’m from Alabama so I’ve had a lot of southern food in my life, too. The banana pudding was the best part but it was all great. They definitely deserve more stars on Google.

This spot is a hidden gem in Tonawanda. Flavors of Jean delivers an exquisite soul food cuisine mixed with a variety of cocktails, including a few signature drinks that have gained them much notoriety in the area. The owners, two of the sweetest women you’ll ever meet, are always pleasant and welcoming. The restaurant itself is cozy. There’s a jukebox on the wall if you want yo enjoy your favorite song while you eat or drink as well as multiple televisions for sporting events or the new episode of your favorite TV show. Moderately priced menu as well as adequate portions ensure you leave full. I highly recommend!

If I could give no stars I would. The one lady was nice enough to check in and let her know I’m picking up a door dash order and showed her on my phone what the customer ordered. She then checked in with the cook staff came back out and told me about 5 mins . Ok no big deal I can wait that long. Another lady was also waiting for an order. Granted she got there before me they gave her better service than me. I shouldn’t be waiting for an order for 30 minutes. Absolutely unacceptable as I sit here and see others get served after I got there. If you can, go elsewhere or else you’re waiting a long time.

The chicken taste and smell like bad oil. The Mac and cheese omg ! It is so thick the cheese and so just caked up with cheese! DISGUSTING ! I’m terrified to taste the yams greens and peach cobbler !

food is top tier! the best soul food i’ve had in Buffalo in a long time. I got the fried shrimp combo and made the shrimp honey cajun (i’m so glad i did) greens were perfect, yams and mac and cheese. the bartender was nice too. definitely coming back
