We made a reservation for 6 people on a Wednesday for lunch. When we arrived our table was ready and we didn’t have to wait.
The atmosphere was ok; I wish it was more quiet but the location plays a big part.
The decor is very warming and welcoming. It gives the idea of being on a family dining room with open floors to the living area.
Once we were seated, a server came right away to offer us water. Then, when the rest of the party arrived they let us settled in.
The servers were very nice and took their time taking our orders without rushing us.
All our food came at the same time and they had it perfect. I ordered the Morel Rigatoni and I was amazed by how delicious it was. They surprised us with some sides on the house and later with 3 desserts on the house too.
They went above and beyond.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The bread they serve is warm with perfect room temperature butter.
The salmon was cooked medium rare wth a delicious miso ginger sauce with sesame seeds. I loved it.
Vegetables were extra and while the spinach was good it could use a little garlic and butter.
Osetra caviar
Lobster and fries
Burgers
Filet mignon
And a few other options .
Great restaurant in a gorgeous setting across from Rockefeller Center. You enter the restaurant through a long hallway decorated with beautifully lit Christmas trees. It was enchanting.
Wonderful experience.
There is a balcony in the warm months.
Update
Liked it so much we went back. The filet was delicious but I didn’t care at all for the sea bass. It wasn’t awful it’s just that the salmon is so much better there is no reason to order the bass. (Truth be told the bass, the fish itself, tasted like a wafer in church…. no flavor and no substance). I was very disappointed actually because the waiter recommended it and I shouldn’t have listened to him.
Then, he never came back to see how we were.
Still a wonderful restaurant and wonderful experience.
Highly recommend for a nice occasion but definitely expensive.
As I mentioned, the atmosphere is superb, but the food is decent, though not particularly extraordinary. For appetizers, we shared avocado with tuna. For the main course, I had the spicy Thai beef, and my friend opted for the morel rigatoni. The fries are definitely a highlight—crispy, not oily, and delicious. Overall, while the food is good, it’s the atmosphere and the view that truly stand out. If you’re after a unique holiday experience with a view, this spot is worth visiting.
Cozy loft restaurant with a cozy lodge themed bar downstairs with a great patio for views
Nice a quiet and well made western classics with some international flare
The Miso Salmon and Tom Yum Chilean Seabass were bursting with flavor—every bite was a standout. I don’t usually have a sweet tooth, but dessert completely won me over. La Pavlova was my personal favorite for its taste, while the Saks S’mores offered a playful and memorable tableside presentation.
L’Avenue is more than just a meal—it’s a full sensory experience, and thanks to Mirko and the entire team, it’s one I can’t wait to relive.
Summery:
Eeesshh. I mean realistically you know you are not coming here for the food, but woah was it flavourless. The last time I had their famous tuna tar tar was in Paris years ago and I enjoyed it. This time around was literally flavourless as well as the artichoke salad. I came here because my bougie brother was in town and likes to feel lavish and wanted to go shopping at sacks…but for me there is nothing less lavish than flavourless food. I will say the service was great and the ambiance does feel nice clean and elevated in there.
What was ordered:
Tuna tar tar: 4/10
Giving a 4 because at least the fish was fresh. Sauce was not enough and also lacking in flavour. Same with the avocado spread – zero flavour. Scary stuff, no spice, no zest, no salt.
Artichoke salad: 2/10
Unfortunately, we ordered two of these because we had just come for a quick little bite, even less flavour than the tartar. At least they were generous with the Parmesan cheese. Skip.
Fries: 10/10
Thank the Lord that these fries were at least crispy and skinny, and came with a generous amount of mayo and ketchup.
Overall, if you were looking to walk around and go shopping and need a quick bite, that’s fine but if you’re looking to save up your paycheque and go for a nice meal or really, just enjoy the food that you’re eating I wouldn’t recommend this place to go. The ambiance is nice and elevated and the service is indeed great. Now I’m just left wondering if I really enjoyed the tuna tartare in Paris or if I was just jaded by all the hype?
