We were seated immediately for breakfast at a low-top table on the people-watching rail. My parfait and my son’s breakfast gyro were served promptly and were very good.

Clean. Excellent service. Airport restrooms are right around the corner. The prices were reasonable for an airport. I would return.

Was it a risk to eat a chili dog and hot wings before my trans-Pacific flight? You better believe it was. However, assuming no food poisoning in the next few hours, I think Leo’s is going to be my Go To at DTW. Good dogs and wings! The service was straight out of Coney Island and overall good diner vibes.

We had plenty of time for breakfast so we went here. We were quickly seated that the coffee came out hot and ready to drink. Ordered an omelette and eggs. I’m surprised the Western novel doesn’t have cheese but I ordered cheese on mine anyway and it was delicious. We also ordered regular eggs with bacon. Bacon was very good The eggs were cooked perfectly. Just like we ordered. Our server kept the coffee coming. It was easy to hear each other there. We enjoyed our breakfast there.

I’ve eaten at many airport restaurants, but this was by far one of the worst. The chili literally looked like poop — thick, lumpy, and unappetizing. The mozzarella sticks were greasy and tasted like they’d been sitting out too long.

What made things worse was the service. The server was cold, unfriendly, and treated other customers kindly while ignoring me. It felt discriminatory and uncomfortable. To top it off, she automatically selected a 20% tip on the payment screen — for service that didn’t deserve a cent.

This was my wife’s first trip to Michigan and we had, already eaten Detroit Pizza, and best Raman, and Best Cronut, and Best Steak, etc, but we were leaving and we still hadn’t gotten her a Detroit Coney Dog. – Enter Leo’s.
It was a last gasp effort, but maybe it would at least be an average Dog and Chili. We ordered the lemon rice soup, fries, and double coney dogs with chili and extra onions (mustard only goes without saying. I’m not 5!). Everything was spot on. The lemon soup was comforting and perfect for a cold Michigan day, the fries were hot and crispy, and the coney dogs were exactly what they’re supposed to be.
That chili is the real deal — classic Michigan coney chili with the right texture and flavor, not overpowering, just perfect on a snap steamed dog with mustard and onions.
Simple, messy, and fantastic.
Fast service, clean restaurant, and exactly the kind of local comfort food experience we were hoping for. This is what a Michigan Coney Island should be.
We’ll definitely be back next time we’re sitting at the airport.

I placed an order at the dtw location today and wanted to sit in the seating area for my food. Upon being greeted I was told I was not allowed because it’s a seperate section from where I placed my order. There is no signs or even hosts standing where I should have gone to sit in seated section to know this. The manager came over and instantly had attitude. Told me I was not allowed to sit in the seated section and proceeded to say “actually I tried to talk to you in the to go side but you ignored me”. I explained I was on a work call and did not hear her. There was also no one near me when placing my order on the kiosk unless she was talking from across the room. I explained to her I that her attitude and professionalism was unacceptable and I’d be contacting corporate. She then stormed over yelling “I’ll call them myself” infront of many other customers. She also claimed she was going to cancel my order. Completely uncalled for. I then stood there and heard her complaining about me and speaking falsely on the events and conversation that transpired just to cover herself with corporate I assume. I am not sure why or how people like this are in charge of others. There is no dress code she had a camo tee shirt on with a cut near her cleavage and bad attitude worst than I’ve ever experienced. I surely hope this is handled. I fly in and out of this terminal monthly for work for work and do not feel that customers should be treated like that. I have never come across such poor behavior.

Lorraine was our server today ! She was the best. So patient and kind. We had an early morning flight and she helped to kick start the day in the right direction. Mind you it was just your typical eggs, bacon and toast breakfast, the highlight and the reason for the review so that Lorraine would get acknowledgment for her awesome service.

The sit-down portion was great. Food was good, service was fast. Loved it. After we left we noticed the walk up portion sold diet Pepsi which is hard to find at any airport. So we went back to get it and the service was terrible. We would go back to the sit down area. We wouldn’t go back to the walk up if they were giving things away.

Was expecting “airport” food and had a really good chicken gryo! Way better than anticipated. Will go back next time I am at DTW.

I saw this was close to terminal A51, so I decided to give this place a shot. The gentleman at the front asked me to try the chicken gyro. I told him I’ll hard pass on that cause I’m a New Yorker, and I’d probably be upset. I saw they had Patty Melt and gave it a shot. It came out pretty decent for airport food. Generally, Airport food isn’t always the best and pricey, so this was a surprise. The bread had a crunch, beef was well seasoned, and I doused mine in ranch. No complains here… I’m a happy camper and relaxed to board!!

P.S. The Delta train shuttle made it more memorable
