TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

The best hot chicken in town by far. Always juicy and perfectly crispy. The service is always a 10 out of 10 the food is always super delicious and the restaurant itself is always clean. This is our go to spot at least 2 to 3 times a week.

First time here and I was really impressed. The cashier asked if we’d ever been there before and thanked us for coming in. The food was surprisingly delicious and the chicken tenders were nice and thick. I got mild spice level and found it very flavorful (maybe a little heavy on the paprika) and it didn’t burn my mouth at all. The accordion fries were great and I loved the flavorful mayo dip. The tables were nice and clean. I was honestly surprised at how much I enjoyed my meal and will definitely be back.

Slowest workers of all time. Three people in the back and only ONE working?? To top it off, the little one even walked passed us to get a a soda (the one circled ) unprofessional! The customer service was just fine, but the staff members are very overworked and the place is very understaffed. This is supposed to be “fast food” but I had to wait 34 minutes for my food to come out. Once I received my food it was stone cold like it had been sitting out for 30 plus minutes.
I felt so bad for the 2 young ladies who kept running back and forth between the cash register, cooking and preparing the food all at the same time. But to wait over 30 minutes and spend $21 dollars, I should have just gone to a sit-down restaurant and be served for the same amount of money and wait time.
I do understand that it was a Saturday night and they were busy, but management shouldn’t make it the customer’s problem if they don’t have enough staff members to operate the place. Management should be on top of their game and have someone working the cash register during their busy times and not step away every 2 minutes to go do something else.
They should also have more than enough cooks continuously knocking out one order after another. That way the system runs smoothly instead of having only 2 or 3 people running all over the place trying to do 5 different things all at one time. Because those workers looked exhausted and they were really pushing through with a smile on their face the best that they could, so I don’t blame them at all for this. But something really needs a change in that place. My guess would be the management. But I’ll never return, not even during slow times.

I ordered a chicken sandwich and it was pretty good! The seasoning was spot on, with just the right balance of flavor without being overwhelming. Some may say its a bit salty but I was craving it so it hit the spot. Even though it was takeout, everything held up really well by the time I got home. The sandwich was packaged neatly, and nothing was messy. Definitely one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve had recently. I’ll absolutely be ordering again!

Today I came in for lunch around noon. The young man at the cashier gave exceptional customer service. I ordered the sliders and also sandwich combo. It was delicious. The meat quality of the chicken was amazing. On my next visit I will kick it the spice a notch! I tried mild lite spice and it was maybe a bit too mild lol. Next time I might try medium spice!

I just got the new hot mozzarella mozzarella sticks. And when I bit into in, theres no cheese. I have no idea how you can make a mozzarella stick without mozzarella. It was just breading.

I recently went to Dave’s Hot Chicken to try out what all the hype was, and I wasn’t very impressed. Their sandwiches were very small and had a cold bun. Their buns weren’t toasted or anything, and neither was their slice of bread they gave me. Their fries were not very tasty and not seasoned enough; it was mediocre food at best. The only thing I can say that I liked very well was their chicken tenders. They were very juicy and well seasoned; they did not disappoint. If I could come back, I would just eat their chicken tenders. If I had to pick a place that was better than Dave’s Hot Chicken, I would choose The Kluckin Chicken instead. You would be getting your money back on how good their food is. Overall, Dave’s Hot Chicken wasn’t bad but not good—just not $50 worth.
