We were from out of town and in the mood for good soul food! This place hit the spot. We actually came right before closing and the staff were so friendly and took care of us. We found this little gem and loved it! The food was fantastic. My kids loved the fried chicken which was homemade and super flavorful. My niece said it was the best Mac and cheese she’d ever had. That’s saying something in our family! Even my stepdad tore up his Chunky Butt! And the staff was all so kind. If you’re in South Charleston, this is the spot!

Healthy soul food but if you add your own salt and hot sauce five stars. Owner Isiah and dad and mom makes it worth the trip. Sumthin Funny is a monthly occurrence but we haven’t experienced. Wife gives it five stars all around. Cornbread should be soft and cake sweet. Not firm and healthy. My doctor would disagree.

First time trying this spot and it wasnt bad at all. The lady taking orders was so nice and sweet. The potato salad was my favorite it was fresh and you could tell homemade. The brisket sandwich stated it came with slaw and a pickle and all i got was a sandwich and fries. Also I dont know if I should have asked for sauce on the brisket but it was dry and had no sauce. Will give them another try one day.

Stopped in due to really good reviews. Food was great! I had chicken & waffles, Mac & cheese and the cabbage 10/10. Staff were nice. The dining area table I sat at could’ve been wiped down a little better, but overall good experience. The price was really cheap also for great tasting food. I would revisit if I was in town again.

You gotta eat here!! Amazing prices and super tasty. We got the chicken and waffles with the Mac and cheese on top. Chicken was delicious. Waffle was great and the Mac and cheese tastes like home. I highly recommend this place. My 10 year old said it’s the best chicken he has ever had.
