We arrived at 5 pm, one other table seated. Ordered drinks and appetizer-brushetta which was really good. Margarita was ok and on the small size for the $. We ordered a steak(med rare) & mash potatoes to share. Steak arrived rare and tough to chew. Potatoes and bread were tasty though. Salad was a little odd in that it wasn’t ant type of lettuce, more like cabbage. The 2 young men working could care less of we like our dinner- they were on their phones most of the time. They were definitely not busy and only started to get more diners when we were leaving.

Best meal in Costa Rica so far. Great menu with plenty of choice of fish, chicken beef or pork cooked in various sauces etc. spaghetti and local Costa Rican dishes too. Amazing taste and a friendly atmosphere.

I usually don’t eat meat ever, but when I came to Cocolores I just had to have their steak. I got it in the cracked pepper sauce with mashed potatoes and it was just perfection. It genuinely was one of the best meals in Costa Rica. They also had delicious salads with the most amazing dressing, i wish I knew the recipe. I’d definitely recommend coming here and trying their food.

Cozy, authentic restaurant by the beach with good seafood.
Overall a decent experience – food was good, seafood pasta was very delicious, fried squid and calamari more like average (especially considering the price of c. 24$).
Still, a nice and cozy atmosphere and attentive service all the way.
Would come back and can recommend the place.

Amazing restaurant and bar, affordable cocktails, nice views close to the beach. The staff were very friendly and there are two adorable cats who live here. The food was great, quick and easy service.

This seaside shack serves an incredible seafood pasta. We tried the carbonara, too. It was equally flawless. Al dente with perfectly pitched flavours. I don’t know who is in the kitchen, but they deserve a hug for making my life just a little bit better.
The restaurant itself really leans into that beach-shack vibe. At night, the mishmash of wood and plastic furniture and coloured lights give it a real authentic feel, but in the stark afternoon sun it feels like a bit of a hygiene risk. Just keep reminding yourself why you are there. THE AMAZING FOOD.

The owner and waiter were rude and confrontational, so we left and will never be back. This is one of the oldest restaurants in Montezuma and with attitudes like that it’s a wonder they’re still open. We have been coming to Montezuma for 20 years so not just a new tourist.

Beautiful, ocean front, outdoor dining! The food was spectacular, and service was outstanding and attentive. Their menu covers nearly anything you are craving: from pork tenderloin, steak, pasta, and the most amazing seafood! Wine was tasty despite having limited selection. However, my guests were very pleased with the choices of cocktails! A jewel in a very small village!

The seafood cazuela was ok with the wine sauce. Some of the seafood was a little hard. The side dishes are mashed potato or rice.
I wouldn’t chose to repeat either dish again if I’m honest.
It was also pretty expensive for the meal.
Think the other sodas around give food that’s much better value for money.

Charming location right on the beach with delicious food. We loved the heaping seafood on lovely garlicky pasta and the local craft beer. The shrimp fajitas were well cooked and came on the traditional sizzling platter with sour cream, beans, cheese, pico de gallo and little tortillas.
