If you’re from New York or you’ve spent any time around real New York pizza, you know how hard it is to find anything that even comes close in Florida. Verrazzanos is the first and only spot in the entire state that actually delivers that true NY flavor.
The crust is perfect — thin, crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside, and sturdy enough to fold just like back home. Their sauce tastes fresh and balanced, not too sweet, not too acidic. The pepperoni has that legit cup-and-crisp char, and the dollops of ricotta take it to another level. Even the basil tastes like it was cut fresh.
The quality is obvious the moment you open the box. This is the kind of pizza that makes you stop mid-conversation after the first bite.
I’ve tried dozens of places across Florida and nothing has compared to real New York until I found Verrazzanos. If you’re anywhere near Largo, this is mandatory. Easily my go-to spot and hands-down the best NY-style pizza in the area.

Gino’s Restaurant is amazing! The minute you walk in your greeted by the owner himself smiling and full of happiness. When he took my order he insisted on offering me a free desert, in which i took his offer then came back and bought some because they were so good, i had to get more. This place made feel like I was back home again in New York!!! If you want real Pizza and awesome Italian food this is the place to go!!!

Just had two of the most awesome slices I’ve had in weeks from any pizzeria. The crust was perfect so much garlic. I loved it. This is the place for Net York pizza I love it. I might be addicted at this point. I used to drive all the way to the location in Dunedin on Sunset point but now this is right on my way home this could be dangerous. I might be having Pizza more than ever.

World class NY style pizza—I got the hot honey ricotta, which was perfectly done, flavorful, and gave me the same ethereal dining experience as the food critic in ratatouille during his childhood flashback scene. The cheesecake was wonderful, and the doctor pepper had all 23 flavors present. This shop is also run by a great group of people who care about their craft and the customer experience—1/7/2025 soft opening and everything was already dialed.

Classic old style pizza shop, with a great New York style thin crust pizza. It’s more of a 4.5 out of 5, the only reason it’s not a five is because the pizza wasn’t crispy on the underside as if it wasn’t cooked all the way thru 100% but still delicious, everything other than that was amazing. They season the crust with some type of butter/garlic/parsley rub and it’s amazing. Pizza sauce tasted very good, along with selection of high quality cheese on the pizza. Garlic knots were very good. Once again, just wish they were cooked a little more. When I walked into grab our order everybody was super nice and attentive and I walked out with my order not even 30 seconds later after walking in. Seems like a very nice place to dine in.

Absolutely amazing! The pizza was delicious with the perfect crust, and the tiramisu was incredible. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this spot—I’ll definitely be back!

It felt great walking into the shop. Everyone was welcoming. They communicated extremely well. The pizza was amazing reminds me of home.. I’m from out of town I’m from northeastern Pennsylvania area. The shop was clean and free of any hazards which is really important when it comes to any food establishment. If you like pizza from up North this is definitely a good place to stop at they know what they’re doing here. But I really did have a good time talking to some of the guys that work there it just felt very homey. I will definitely be back this has become my official Florida pizza shop. So thank you guys and keep up the good work.

I’m so happy I found this place!! I was just in newyork and tried so many pizzas that disappointed me , I can’t believe I found this place in Florida , I finally found a Newyork style pizza that actually tastes amazing , no wonder it’s because they have 40+ years of experience! The pizza sauce has the perfect balance of sweetness, garlic, and cheese, the crust is so nicely crispy and doesn’t flop at all ! My Sicilian heart is soooo happy with their Sicilian Cannoli’s , they’re so smooth and has chocolate running through each bite. Their bread is house made and so fluffy ! The owner was so nice and welcoming and even gave us extra food to try ! I’m definitely bringing my Italian family next time ❤️
