Occupying a dramatic, festive space beneath the catwalk entry of Moxy Lower East Side, Japanese restaurant Sake no Hana serves free-spirited izakaya dishes invigorated with New York attitude. With a shareable menu of grilled teppanyaki dishes, yakitori skewers, Wagyu beef, creative sushi rolls, and a curated list of sakes, beers, and cocktails highlighting Japanese spirits. The space buzzes with alluring energy perfect for any celebration.

Really enjoyed our visit to Sake No Hana. The extensive and thoughtfully curated dishes are most certainly the highlight. We had the Smashed Cucumber Salad, Grilled Maitake Mushrooms, Karaage Chicken, the extensive selection of Sushi, the Grilled Salmon, the Green Vegetables Fried Rice, and the roasted vegetables Asparagus were all great.
We had the privilege of experiencing the Neopolitan pizza of Susumu Kakinuma of Seirinkan, a legendary Tokyo-based Pizzeria who was visiting and hosting a pop-up at Sake No Hana for just this week.
The ambience is exceptional even though it was incredibly busy on a Thursday evening.

Had a great experience at Sake No Hana. The best appetizer by far was the spicy tuna tartare, and the bluefin tuna with ponzu was crack—so fresh and flavorful. We also tried the tacos (yellowtail, toro, and lobster). They were delicious and beautifully presented, though not my absolute favorite, still very good.
For the main course, we ordered the ribeye with vegetable fried rice, and it was cooked to perfection. The flaky salt and accompanying sauce paired extremely well with the rice and elevated the dish. For dessert, we had the chocolate soufflé, which was also delicious.
Overall, beautiful presentation, really good service, and amazing food. The only downside was that we had an 8:30 pm reservation and weren’t seated until 9:00 pm, but it was Valentine’s Day so it was understandable.

Sake No Hana is a staple in NYC! It’s easily become one of my favorites and is truly one of the only restaurants that gives you a 5 star experience. My significant other LOVES Japan and has been to Tokyo to try the pizza there. I booked us a reservation for the opening day of the pizza pop up and we were so excited! We were greeted warmly and were sat with a great view of the dining room and all the action. Our server Ari was very attentive, hospitable and walked us through the menu with ease. She gave us great recommendations and provided us with realistic updates on the status of the pizza since it was a very busy night. We ordered some sushi rolls and other items off the regular menu which gave us some time to digest and then when the pizza came out- we devoured it in minutes! Pizza is my favorite food and this was the best I ever tasted. I’m still drooling thinking about it! It really felt like the entire team went above and beyond to make sure the guests had a unique experience and no one skipped a beat.
Management was on point; interacting with guests, touching tables, and checked in on us many times. Jesse and Michael are so knowledgeable of all things Sake! You cannot go wrong with any of their recommendations. There was always a staff member or manager close by incase anyone had any question and they were eager to help. Shout out to Julian, Tricia, Anna, and Leah as well for the lovely service! From beginning to the end of service, you can feel the hospitality and the passion coming from this room and the staff. Can’t wait to be back again soon!

I recently visited Sake No Hana for the Seirinkan pizza pop-up and couldn’t have asked for a better experience over two visits.
We first went on opening night and saw adjustments being made during service due to the overwhelming demand and influx of orders. Our server Barrett made to check in frequently and updated us on the status of our pizzas often. Despite the wait, we felt like we were cared and the pizzas made by chef were truly worth the wait.
On our second visit, Leah truly made us feel like we were long-time friends. She checked in frequently, chatted with us, and made us feel at home. While the food was great, it was truly from the service of Barrett and Leah that made our experience so memorable. I can’t wait to visit again and would recommend to all my friends!

Went here for the Seirinkan Popup. Food was delicious but definitely NOT worth the price…especially since the price of the pizza was originally $29 when we booked our reservation, and got bumped up to $45 the next day. That’s an insane price for a personal sized pizza. I feel like they should’ve locked in the price depending on when you reserved.
Chicken Wing Robata ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
I think this was the best tasting thing and also the only one worth its price. It’s a step below yakitori places such as Torien, but a big step above every where else at this price point.
Margherita Pizza ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Probably one of the best slices of pizza I’ve had. It was incredibly soft and flavorful. Glad I tried it once but not worth $45. The other two pizzas were good but not comparable.
Chicken Kaarage ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
I wish this was how all chicken Kaarage were made, personally. Lightly crispy, but not crunchy like typical fried chicken Kaarage. Flavor was great.
Gyoza ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
It was really good, but not better than any regular Asian restaurant. Especially not worth the price. Cool presentation though.
Our server was great though. They also accidentally served us extra food at no extra costs, which I’m also grateful for.
They warned us there was a 1 to 1.5 hour wait for pizza as the kitchen was backed up. In reality we got our first pizza in 10 mins and every other pizza came out before we could even finish the previous one. Not sure what happened for our table to be so blessed, but I’m thankful for not having to actually wait 1+ hour.

My friend was in town visiting so we went to Sake No Hana last week. We had an amazing meal. Our server, Leah, was incredibly knowledgeable and personable. She explained the menu very well to help guide our order. Everything was delicious and I will definitely be going back soon!

If I could describe my experience here with just 1 word, it would be “wow”. I had chosen this spot for a birthday dinner with my friends and it turned out to be such a great night. Originally, I had a reservation for a different TAO group restaurant but they had to cancel it as someone rented it out. To make up for it, the TAO group had offered a round of champagne here at Sake no Hana as I chose it as my alternative reservation. When I came in, I was in awe of how beautiful the restaurant was. One of my friends was running late and the staff were very kind and understanding and still allowed her to be seated. They were very professional and made my friends and I feel very taken care of all night. My group had multiple dishes to share and all were delicious and I took note of many dishes that I would want to come back for. Midway, the servers came out with 2 complimentary dishes (sashimi and a whole platter of steak) and that was just very kind of them and I can’t say thank you enough to their team. I won’t write out an essay to describe every dish I had but let’s just say it was amazing. The flavors and textures were a work of art really. The drinks themselves were so fun and so beautiful. I absolutely loved the bone marrow fried rice and would come back to eat it all by myself next time. The desserts were a fun twist as well! A little sweet for my taste but nonetheless yummy. Thank you again to the wonderful team at Sake no Hana, you’ve been so kind and generous and truly gave me such a wonderful birthday experience.

Went in for the The Seirinkan pop-up. Ordered from their regular menu plus 2 pies. Everything was fantastic. The Marinara pie was our favorite (only managed to snap a photo of the Margherita because we devoured the Marinara immediately). Chic venue + super friendly staff+ great selection of sake. Highly recommend.

The food is delicious! We had reservations, but ended up waiting another 20 minutes for a table. The coctails were okay, not my favorite, but the food was top knotch, definitely pairs with Tao Group Hospitality.
