We ate here for the first time yesterday October 6. Darrell had just had surgery on his eye and had not eaten. He had not eaten since the night before and it was after 4 when he finally got to eat he had the fajita beef enchiladas with rice and beans. I had the Cancun it was a shrimp ceviche tostada and shrimp enchiladas with refried beans. We generally rate a Mexican Restaurant by the salsa theirs was okay. But the FOOD WAS FANTASTIC!!! When Darrell goes with out eating he usually is unable to eat very much but he ate about half which was amazing. Mine was absolutely delicious the ceviche was a spicy delight with creamy avocado slices! The shrimp enchiladas was delicious the shrimp had great flavor. When we were finished he went to the car and I went to the register to pay. To my delight there was the sweetest lady that had a smile that lit up the whole room! The young man next to her was so nice. I told them that I was going to post a review I didn’t get their names but they were great and need to be recognized I can tell you that they are an asset to this restaurant and the food yummy! I can’t wait to come back!

I was very pleased with how welcoming everyone was. They were very fast and got our order exactly right.(Even with our special requests) our waitress was very good at her job. We never got thirsty thanks to her.

Went here with 4 family members they had all been here before and were returning I had been to another location that had closed down but reopened here. I was excited to return. We had a great time Service was excellent. Food was fresh, plenty of it and tasty. Even though we were visiting and 3 of us stayed longer, we were not rushed. Will be going back.

Across the years we’d travel to McAlester to visit family and would often go the “Taco Bob’s” for a meal of their Ameri-Mex food, particularly their special house dish called a “sancho.” Last week was our first visit since ownership and style changed. (The manager said that occurred about two years ago. We don’t get over there very often since family members left or passed.)
Seems that Mexican restaurants, once so rare in eastern Oklahoma, have become a dime a dozen in most communities throughout Oklahoma. Some are really delightful, and others are really mediocre. I must say this one falls into the former category; we were really glad to have stopped there.
Not only was the food tasty, but portions were good and reasonably priced. I’m kind of risk averse, so ordered a simple chicken quesadilla…something that’s hard to mess up.
On the other hand, my wife chose their McAlester Grande, which really lives up to its name. The “appetizer” course is a tostada and crispy beef taco, followed by an entree’ consisting or an enchilada, pork tamale, rice and beans.
All employees treated us well and were kind and punctual. However, the language barrier was sometimes tough to overcome. That’s the only negative we encountered.
We saw many plates of fajitas being delivered to other tables. My quesadilla was filled with chicken fajita meat, so I’m sure the full fajita meals are quite good. We plan to return in a week or so and try them.
The high ratings this restaurant have received are apparently justified. We’ll have a better feel for that after our next visit…but I have a high degree of certainty we’ll be just as pleased the second time around.

First time here. We have/had a favorite Mexican restaurant, but decided to adventure out!

The Birria Tacos were excellent, tamales my husband said were the best he’d ever eaten. Loved the quacamole!

Great food, great service, great margaritas, our group really enjoyed our lunch at this really great restaurant. Great menu selections and very attentive staff. Highly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy Mexican food.

It’s ok. Chicken enchiladas filling was unique and strangely seasoned. I prefer a simple presentation. The green sauce was a 6 on a spicy/heat 10 scale. Way too hot for gringos. I like to distinctly taste all the ingredients versus the culinary experience being dominated by one spice. The refried beans were very good. We sat in a glassed room with little character. The server was tentative.

Ever go into a restaurant and it just feels good? That’s this place. They literally make you feel welcomed and the whole staff is super friendly. I don’t think we have ever had a bad experience there. The food is great! I could eat the chorizo tacos everyday! Literally, my favorite place to go.
