They charge 20-25 dollars for a “gourmet” sandwich that you could make yourself at home for half the price.
They also charge 4 dollars for a drink. The cup is tiny.
Not to mention I can tell that the ingredients they use are not high quality or even “Gourmet”. In and Out has better quality ingredients and they dont call themselves gourmet.
The management is also very bad. Customer service was rude especially the one girl thats always criticizing her employees without helping. I’ve never seen her help make a sandwich.
This place has no atmosphere that is friendly.
I would rather go to McDonalds. This place has fallen from grace and shown that they prioritize profits over making good food.
I have told all my friends and family to never go here. Baggins used to be good. Not anymore.
(just had to come back and edit because it seems another review previous had also indicated some of my worries that the girl doesn’t help just critiques was actually true. I didnt know another person had also seen/ experienced that)
This is not how a local sandwich shop should be ran…
Initially I ordered a GF chicken salad sandwich with avocado, in addition to a bowl of tomato soup.
The soup was great, however I only received half a sandwich. So I called, letting the person on duty know. To which they replied shock, because apparently the general manager made my order. Nonetheless they offered to remake my sandwich and have it delivered to me.
Of course I was grateful and excited. I’m pregnant and I’ve been craving this sandwich all day, half of one would not cut it.
When I got a chance to finally sit and eat my full sandwich, I was sorely disappointed. What I received was a sandwich sloppily made with the toothpick inside the sandwich, not poked through the top of the bread. On top of that, I was given the end piece of bread, which was placed upside down to make the sandwich… like I said, sloppy. I’ve included photos of the original sandwich and then the sloppily made replacement. You can see that in the replacement sandwich there’s no toothpick hole going through the top, and that’s because someone put it in the meat.
I find this vindictive and worrisome. In fact, I don’t feel comfortable eating the sandwich at all, because who knows what else was done to it.
The food is indeed pricey but very good!
Recently i find myself coming for lunch here very, often usually around 12 to 1 on some weekdays. Its becoming a guilty pleasure of mine, as the Grill Sandwiches especially are always VERY delicious around this time!
The atmosphere was clean and very presentable! I love the aesthetic and its very well kempt! Avery is a hard worker and a decent fellow!
Unfortunately, there are also some big downsides, (aside from the price) the service for instance is very mixed
For instance ive witnessed many times what looks like workplace rudeness or harrassment, mostly by a large young woman wearing glasses, who I’ve seen berating several employees before, during busy hours. I noticed She usually does not help or make sandwiches or anything like that but rather seems to stand around and occasionally critique other employees. She has also taken my order on occasion before, and she has used somewhat of a rude tone towards me as well, although admittedly not as much as her coworkers.
On the other hand, ive had several positive experiences with other people!
For instance, an older lady there who wears glasses and is still going strong! She is usually the one taking my order, She is a hard worker and nice person whos taken my order, and had even serve out my soups and food herself. On one occasion, early in the day I recall she even got on the grill herself and made my order! I admire her hard work and dedication, especially at such an age!
There is also a young hispanic man who wears glasses and a Baggins cap. I usually see him cooking on the grill and I like to order the hot ones when hes around. But on occasion hes also even taken my order. He is very friendly and sincerely genuine, even making personable small talk on occasion! Today, even though he was busy, he even greeted by my name as I walked in! He also works very hard, for instance on one weekend, ive had him take my order, and then make it all by himself in a very short time!
Lastly there, I really like a young asian man with glasses named Thomas. He seems very down to earth, and is very easygoing and down to earth! He also has multiple occasions greeted me by name. I believe he is a manager, and he is very kind and patient. He has helped me on various occasions when there has been issues with my payment or I mess up or change my order, and he is genuinely understanding and caring. He is also a very hard worker, and you can tell he genuinely cares about his employees! on a few occasions Ive seen him motivating his coworkers, and even offering help to them when it gets very busy or they seem to be struggling. He is very driven and proactive! He is a hard worker, with genuine respect and consideration towards his coworkers!
Unsure why it took another 20 mins after getting there to make that many sandwiches, and why the two guys with glasses were just talking to the only guy making sandwiches. You’d think they’d also make the food instead of talking. The guy with the patchwork haircut would literally stop making sandwiches to turn to the guys with the glasses to talk at certain points multiple times. Next time I’ll go to Beyond Bread.
