We’re honeymooning around Colorado – and this has been the best food stop so far!
Settled in a gorgeous old-west-esque area of upper Rifle, this is a tasty and friendly spot to drop in for breakfast or coffee. Not for those looking to get in and out in a hurry, the staff is happy to connect on a personal level and cook all made-to-order food to your liking.
Highly recommend dropping in on this gem if you’re in the area or even passing through. ❤️

What a delightful little cafe with excellent food. We had breakfast here after spending the night in Rifle on a roadtrip. I had the Spanish scramble – the chorizo is amazing. Get a side of salsa for $1 to really make the dish. My husband had the French toast with bacon. We would eat here again if we’re ever in Rifle.

What a delightful local find! Veggies & fruit are fresh. Coffee was fast and foamy Fab laid back vibe. Awesome art. Kind staff. Great location!

Stopped here on our way through town. There weren’t many pastries left as we arrived an hour before closing. We just wanted some drinks for the drive, anyway. Unfortunately, the cold brew wasn’t good for a coffee shop. We got a mouthful of grounds with every sip so we tossed it on our way out. The lavender lemonade was good, albeit a bit too sweet. It sufficed to get us to our next stop. The space was nice and the vibes were good. It’s a shame about the drinks. And, also that we were just passing through. Maybe we just came too late.

The breakfast sandwich was exceptionally well-prepared, and the takeout service was convenient. This is precisely the kind of breakfast experience one desires while on vacation, especially on the go! I ordered a breakfast sandwich to my liking with bacon, fried egg, avocado and some greens. So yummy!

Great customer service, good food and reasonable prices. I had the special for the day which was Biscuits and Gravy with a side of bacon. My gf had the French toast with side of sausage. Only complaint would be the hot chocolate wasn’t very hot. Would come back again and would recommend.

My favorite breakfast joint in all the Glenwood, New Castle, Silt, Rifle area. The breakfast taste great everytime. Portions are filling, Price is reasonable. The sweet young lady behind the counter is always cordial, polite, friendly and provides great customer service. I’m always happy leaving the Whistle Pig.

Prices are very reasonable and there is a lot of value for the caliber of food on display at this cafe. The homemade bagel sandwiches are stacked and delicious, made to order with vegetables not already wilted from the clearance section, (a rarity for the area). Breakfast burritos actually have well cooked potatoes in them (another rarity), and rotating weekly specials are well thought out and delicious.

The espresso drinks never rise to the heights of some of their up-valley counterparts to be considered “destination coffee,” yet they are still confidently made and satisfying. There is a great flow to the space between the grab and go coffee counter and places to sit for some light table service. Employees have always been genuine, kind and helpful.

There are occasionally some slight inconsistencies in quality, and sometimes the homemade food will clash with their more basic accompaniments. I’ve heard they have good lunch, yet they close at noon on the weekends, (which is when lunchtime begins, not ends) so I haven’t gotten to make it in yet.

These gripes however are inconsequential compared to the big picture. This is the best place to eat food in Rifle, period. My hope is that Whistle Pig is the small pebble that eventually starts a rock slide in the town’s culinary community.

Fresh ingredients matter, always. Their long lines prove that if you present peoples taste buds with a better option they will welcome it with open arms and open mouths. Oh!

Great food made with love. It does take longer for them to make your meal, so call in an order if you’re in a hurry. I had the French toast, and enjoyed it.

Stopped by for breakfast on our way to Moab . The dining area has a nice ambiance.
Service was nice however food took a little longer to come out especially when it wasn’t that busy .

Food was good overall though.
