Appetizers:
We got the stuffed plantains with shredded beef, ham croquettes, and fried yucca balls to start. Croquettes were crispy and sweet and served with a ketchup mayo sauce, stuffed tostones beef was tender flavorful and juicy, and yucca balls were so fun!
Dinner:
We got Uruguayan steak (ham and Swiss layered on pork and breaded), fried pork chunks with yucca, roasted pork, sweet plantains (maduros), mixed rice and black beans (congris), avocado salad, and a Cuban sandwich. Everything was perfect!!! Seasoning was excellent, everything was perfectly soft or crispy, the plantains were soft and carmelized well. Best fried pork chunks I’ve ever had because they were small, lean, and well seasoned. Cuban sandwhich was an interesting ‘deluxe’ version that included lettuce and tomato – and huuuuge. Only eh think was the Cafecito.
Can’t wait to come back!!!!! Cuban dad says he is going to be a regular 🙂
I only have a few complaints, it was warm inside and we can smell sewer. We were also charged for water, granted it was in a great value bottle, but why charge for water and $1.50?
Unfortunately, my first experience at another local spot, Lola’s Cuban Food, was the opposite: the meat was dry and tasted microwaved, the rice had no flavor, and the empanadas were dry and crumbly. It was a real disappointment.
QBola clearly has the touch. This is definitely going to be my new regular spot!
The sandwiches are really good and the fried plantains are a must. The waitstaff is always super friendly and helps with ordering, and the place itself has a nice, well-decorated vibe. Definitely one of my go-to spots for Cuban food.
Food is delicious and taste CUBAN.
