Sophia Steak first opened its doors in Wilmette in 2020 and quickly established itself as the neighborhood’s top steakhouse. Following this success, a second location was launched in 2022 at 181 E. This was our last dinner for restaraunt week and we are so glad we came after seeing other good reviews on it!

We started with the grilled octopus and lobster Mac and cheese and wow they did not disappoint. Both were so incredible flavorful and cooked absolutely perfect!

I got the surf and turf wagyu with truffle sauce and asparagus. Wow. That truffle bearnaise I could dip every meal for the rest of my life in and be absolutely happy haha. The steak and lobster were cooked to perfection! SO good. My wife got the flat iron steak and the peppercorn with mushrooms sauce mixed with that steak was perfect!

What really topped me off was we love to always order crème brûlée after a delicious Italian or steak meal and our waiter informed us their sister restaurant upstairs actually had it but they didn’t so he could just go get some from up there for us. Not only did he give us this special dessert from their sister restaurant but it was completely free and comped. What an amazing and friendly staff! This place is incredible, we will absolutely be coming back and bringing our friends.

Sophia was a wonderful dining experience. I went for a birthday celebration and the small details were the special touch that really made the experience memorable. Everything from the personalized menus to the complementary champagne elevated the night. The food was great. Steak was cooked to a perfect medium. And the drinks… the drinks were so delicious. I would definitely recommend dining and perhaps celebrating your special occasion here.

It was an excellent choice for dinner with friends. We ordered the steak topped with mushrooms and came hot from first bite to last. It was salted well and cooked perfectly as I like it.
We had the ice burg salad ( smaller than I expected) and the beet burrata very good. The ambience is very nice and unique. Soft light music in the background and the restaurant was full of people. I will definitely come back again.

My new favourite restaurant in Chicago! We came for Chicago Restaurant Week and tried a few dishes. I absolutely loved the steak, it was melt in your mouth tender and perfectly seasoned. Hamachi crudo & shrimp were so flavourful with different textures. Absolute flavourbomb. I’d skip the potatoes & caviar, the potato to caviar ratio was off. We sat at the bar and Rachel was hands down the best server we’ve ever had! Definitely coming back to try their normal menu and hopefully get served by Rachel again.

I went to Sophia on my birthday yesterday and it was great! I would definitely go again. My party and I participated in their restaurant week specials. One was vegetarian. She had the butternut squash soup for her 1st and said it was delicious. The risotto for her 2nd and bread pudding (We all ordered the bread pudding) for her 3rd. The rest of us ordered the shrimp scampi as the 1st and the Flat Iron special as our 2nd. I received an extra desert due to it being my birthday. I had a really great time. The atmosphere was beautiful. Everyone rated their food and no dish was rated under 8. The drinks were pretty good too. I had You had me at Hello. Very nice and smooth. Mostly 9’s across the board. The table next to us had the Cod and it looked good as well. I didn’t see any leftovers so I would take that as a good sign.

Fabulous experience, went for restaurant week. Newer to the city a place I will absolutely frequent and yell the girlies about. The dishes were phenomenal we ordered the 3 course option, with drinks and apps. The service, and moody vibe of the space is everything. Can not wait to go back, as a pescatarian I appreciate all of the seafood options. Perfect for a date night, girl’s date, a business meeting, and most any occasion. Thanks for kicking off my birthday restaurant tour. I’m not even gonna lie to you the bill $200+ and well worth it. Trust me, go treat yourself.

I came here solo for my birthday dinner and it was such a vibe. Dark, moody, sexy ambiance.

The food was too good. 20/10. The strip steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection, and the broccoli was flavorful and perfectly done.

My server was super friendly, and the entire staff was beyond nice and accommodating. They truly made me feel celebrated and taken care of, which made the night even more special.

If I lived in Chicago, I’d honestly come here all the time. Highly recommend. Thank you so much for making my birthday dinner such a great experience!

Relaxing and cozy atmosphere, delicious food and pleasant ambiance. We were able to walk without reservation and got seats at the bar during restaurant week, the menu was fantastic with special shout out for cod in romesco sauce and hamachi crudo, sticky toffee pudding and chocolate sundae. Highly recommended!
