Welcoming both tourists and locals, Sophia Steak Chicago is poised to become everyone’s favorite steakhouse. Sophia Steak first opened its doors in Wilmette in 2020 and quickly established itself as the neighborhood’s top steakhouse. Following this success, a second location was launched in 2022 at 181 E. Laurel Ave., bringing the best of Sophia Steak to the Lake Forest community.

We started with the grilled octopus and lobster Mac and cheese and wow they did not disappoint. Both were so incredible flavorful and cooked absolutely perfect!
I got the surf and turf wagyu with truffle sauce and asparagus. Wow. That truffle bearnaise I could dip every meal for the rest of my life in and be absolutely happy haha. The steak and lobster were cooked to perfection! SO good. My wife got the flat iron steak and the peppercorn with mushrooms sauce mixed with that steak was perfect!
What really topped me off was we love to always order crème brûlée after a delicious Italian or steak meal and our waiter informed us their sister restaurant upstairs actually had it but they didn’t so he could just go get some from up there for us. Not only did he give us this special dessert from their sister restaurant but it was completely free and comped. What an amazing and friendly staff! This place is incredible, we will absolutely be coming back and bringing our friends.

We had the ice burg salad ( smaller than I expected) and the beet burrata very good. The ambience is very nice and unique. Soft light music in the background and the restaurant was full of people. I will definitely come back again.
The food was too good. 20/10. The strip steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection, and the broccoli was flavorful and perfectly done.
My server was super friendly, and the entire staff was beyond nice and accommodating. They truly made me feel celebrated and taken care of, which made the night even more special.
If I lived in Chicago, I’d honestly come here all the time. Highly recommend. Thank you so much for making my birthday dinner such a great experience!
