Excellent food. I was actually surprised at how well-seasoned and delicious the food is here. This is my second time eating at Himes. Today we had the chicken pot pie, fried green tomatoes, and the country bennie. The coffee was excellent, particularly the cold brew. Will return.

What a nice time with great, sustenance- and flavor-filled food. We came for breakfast and, after waiting for about 5-10 minutes, were seated in a roomy booth that accommodated our group of 4 quite nicely. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes, which were definitely like a breakfast-dessert combination. Others in my party ordered the Pot Belly Benny, biscuits and gravy, and eggs with sides (potatoes with toast). We also ordered coffee and waters.

This is a welcome addition to the Brandon community. The breakfast here is really good. The waffles are some of the best I have ever had. The coffee infused maple syrup is the best I have ever had. (This syrup should be bottled and sold). The pork belly is delicious. The service is friendly and efficient. Relaxed pleasant atmosphere. A very enjoyable experience at Himes Breakfast House.

It was me plus 2. We were seated promptly. I had the Fried Pork Belly with home fries and eggs. It was good. The pork belly was fried with a crisp. My friends had the omelet and cat fish. Everything tasted fresh and cooked just right. Definitely worthy of a new breakfast spot. They’re open 7am-2pm Tuesday thru Sunday.

Hands down the BEST breakfast I’ve had in Florida. Everything was a 10/10!
I visited on November 7, 2025, around 8:26 a.m., and from start to finish, everything was perfect. Louise was so sweet. I called ahead to make sure they had mimosas, and she went above and beyond. She introduced herself when I arrived, stopped by my table, and made me feel genuinely welcomed.
My server, Kendall, was just as kind and attentive. My meal was only $32.33, but I tipped her $20 because she truly deserved it. The food and drinks were absolutely amazing. I ordered Gayle’s Omelette with grits and bacon, plus a strawberry mimosa, and every single thing was a solid 10/10. The grits were creamy and rich, the omelette was flavorful and fresh, and the mimosa was perfectly mixed. It was honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.
The restaurant was spotlessly clean, the energy was warm and positive, and I truly felt right at home. I also loved that you can tap to pay right at the table, which made the whole experience super quick and easy. Multiple employees stopped by to check in, which made me feel so cared for. From the service to the food and drinks, everything was flawless. For no more than $52.33 total, it was beyond worth it. I’ll definitely be back!

It was our first time visiting this restaurant. Food was good, but could use more flavor. Service was wonderful from the minute we walked in. What did bother me were the sticky floors and the dirty bathrooms. Whoever cleans the restaurant at the end of the day is not doing a very good job. So that was a little bit of of turn off, because my brain jumped straight to: is the kitchen also this neglected?

I’m not a big food reviewer, but my wife and I just love this place. We’re there just about every weekend.
Let’s start with the basics – great food, prices are perfectly reasonable. It’s not “cheap” but neither is the product they’re serving you.
I wish I could write about lots of items on the menu, but I can’t because I get the same thing every darn time – chicken and waffles with Sriracha honey. And I’m thinking about it during the week. My wife loves her Gayle’s omelette every time. They don’t even bother giving us menus any more.
The staff are fantastic. They’re all super friendly, and super friendly with each other. It’s a happy feeling when you walk in, the music is great, and they did a great job fixing up the old Hula Hank’s site which was in desperate need of a spruce up.
But today was just fun. Saturday morning after Halloween the night before, and all the employees were dressed up. My wife and I were laughing hysterically the entire meal. They were all having a great time with it, and all the patrons were loving it.
Give them a try, you’ll have a great breakfast for sure.

This is a solid breakfast place where you can get some good traditional plates and something a little different. The pork belly bacon and grits were absolutely solid and the coffee flavored syrup is worth the try alone. Wasn’t a fan of the portion size of the chicken and waffles but sole good ol boy next to us had a platter full, so that’s not the entire menu. Service was really, really good. Overall good recommended breakfast place. Y’all need to bottle and sell that syrup.
