What a great find on Tybee Island! The beers are great, but the food is what brings us back! My go-tos are the smoked beet salad (no dirt tasting beets here!) and the Thai chicken naan, but today I had the pimento cheese and brisket. Soft shredded brisket over top of pimento cheese served with toasted bread- So very good! My husband had the the buffalo chicken wrap and said it was just as good as the brisket quesadilla he usually gets. The staff is always personable and prompt. You will like eating here!

Loved this down home hokey bar and brewery. Super authentic, friendly attentive service. They make their own brews right next door, and smoke their own meat. They are proud of it, for good reason. Not high-end, but a great salty taste of Tybee Island. Very rustic. Try it out if you like rustic and salty.

I am so glad we stumbled upon this hidden gem!! You enter to go upstairs through a Mexican restarting, but don’t let it fool you. I didn’t try the beers because I didn’t want to get full, but the food was incredible and we can’t stop talking about it!! I want to take the 4 hour trip back just to eat there. The Pimento Chrese Brisket appetizer was to die for, the Brisket Quesadilla was incredible, and so was the Smoked Turkey Sandwich. The cucumber salad was so unique as it was creamy and so full of a unique flavor. At first it seemed a bit pricey, but once you Taste it and the fresh ingredients, you can see why. A must try!

The best food we’ve had all week in Savannah. Came in at 9:12 PM with a group of seven and management checked with the kitchen to make sure they could accommodate us since the kitchen had closed. They served us all and let us know there was no rush. The grilled cheese and tomato bisque is absolutely perfect for the cold season. Drinks were fantastic, service was excellent with super friendly staff. Vibe is laid back and it’s cool to be able to see inside the clean kitchen. Can’t wait to come back for live music! Visiting from Gainesville, Fl.

This spot was within walking distance of our rental; you enter through Agave Bar & Grill and head upstairs. Seating is limited to bar and high-top tables. We arrived on trivia night, which added to the fun! The service was excellent, and while the food and drinks were just okay, the friendly atmosphere made up for it. Our kids had a blast dancing, and the staff even gave them stickers. Overall, a great night out!

Adding another review because the food looked just as amazing as it tasted!
The presentation was beautiful – you can tell the chef puts heart into every plate. From the Caprese salad to the brisket quesadillas and that heavenly cinnamon roll, everything was picture-perfect and full of flavor. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Savannah — Back River Brewery is a hidden gem worth every bite!

Best food on Tybee! And definitely the best food I’ve ever had at any brewery. Casey and the crew are outstanding. Live music on Friday was great also. Will definitely come back.

An absolutely 5 star brewery experience! The owners are incredibly welcoming and want you to experience the best time possible. Every detail has been carefully thought out, huge windows that overlook Tybee, handmade chestnut tables by the owner, tasteful nautical local art, purse hooks under the bar, and a fair priced glass of wine. The head chef is doing magical things back in the kitchen, the menu is exciting and pulls from other types of food but honors the southern heart of the brewery. You can see the chefs as they cook! I have no notes, best brewery on the island (and maybe off it too.) Parking is limited but enough for the size of the bar

The beers are all fantastic! The food is spectacular! Chef Casey is truly amazing with his creativity. He sources locally and the flavors are just incredible. The music is good and the service is pleasant. I’ll be making this my local go to spot!
We tried the brisket quesadillas, the bruschetta and the smoked turkey BLT. Large portions, we brought leftovers home! As for beers, we tried the Nice Berries Kolsch, About Lager Time, and I See Red Lagers. All were great! I had three of the Nice Berries, getting one to go and walk on the beach with. Highly recommend!

This place is awesome. It is a bit small and up some stairs from the parking lot. But the food was soooo good (definitely not your standard bar food) and there was live music on a Wednesday night! The music (Evan Rose) was really good – two guys on acoustic guitars with some singing.
