Upscale American comfort food, cocktails & wine on tap served in a swanky, vintage-chic tavern.

We recently moved to Lake Bluff and have been here twice as a family. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Food was great and my kids devoured their burger and fries. Such a great atmosphere too! Love having such a great restaurant so close.

Had their Sunday brunch. The atmosphere is wonderful and so is the service. I will say I was a little disappointed with the hash and eggs but other times I’ve had their dinner and was very impressed! Good brunch place overall and can accommodate a large party.

When we moved to Lake Bluff four years ago Maevery quickly became a favorite restaurant. No more. The last two times we went were terrible. The owner needs to stop waiting tables. My poor shank was partially raw and it took almost 10 minutes for my wife to get her dish as she wanted.
They seem woefully understaffed. It’s a shame

Picked out this restaurant for a post graduation celebration and was not disappointed. Little pricey but the service, food, and atmosphere matched the bill.

Best food I’ve had in this area, but definitely hit or miss on some items. The gnocchi is the reason for the 4 stars. Add the sausage and it’s wonderful! Tried it with chicken too, but the chicken didn’t have any seasoning. The saffron shrimp is very bland with no flavor. The Brussels sprouts were good enough for me to order twice, but the second time it didn’t live up to my standards. Tuna tartare is awful- wouldn’t recommend.

The best pub food we have ever enjoyed and in a clean, comfortable and well lighted, woody, modern setting. Their pork shank was beautifully plated, swimming in cheesy grits and tender to the point of not requiring a knife, perfectly spiced and prepared. We split a large side order of mashed potatoes as appetizer which was cheesy, creamy excellence. Their eight ounce filet was likewise perfectly prepared and delightful. A pleasing wine list includes The Federalist red on tap and splits of a wondrous French sparkler! Our waitresses always have been superb during many previous outdoor visits and yesterday for our first indoor experience. By far our favorite restaurant. We gladly drive for about an hour specifically to visit Maevery.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy, lively, and aesthetically pleasing. The food is really tasty especially the fish and chips and the Berkshire pork shank. The brunch is also delicious and the mimosas are well made. There is a good selection of cocktails and overall they are pretty good. However, for the price I was left wanting. Most of the time I have had great experience with the staff being attentive, helpful, and friendly.
The community it is located in is beautiful and has a wonderful park right across from the restaurant where events and folk can always be found enjoying the space.

I came in solo had a beer, dinner, and dessert. The BBQ pork sandwich was very good. The flaming pecan bread pudding was delicious!! Laura was my server and did excellent. She chose the meal for me and I couldn’t have been happier with her service.

We were looking for something close for a little weeknight celebration and decided on Maevery Public House. A great location, fantastic atmosphere and simple but elegant menu selection. Our server “Laura M” was second to none, engaging and happy to suggest/recommend.
Started off with some bubbly and a crab cake. Graduated to the BBQ Ribs and a Pork Chop along with a Pike Road Pinot Noir (really enhanced the BBQ flavor). The night ended with some of the best bread pudding every.
So happy with our choice Tuesday evening to stop at Maevery and we are confident that this will go into our rotation of restaurants we enjoy frequently.

My fiance’s family and I went to meet her sisters boyfriends family here and we had a decent sized area set up side for us. Upon walking in the area isn’t too bad, however I noticed it is quite crowded. Conversations are right next to you and there isn’t much personal space.
We started off with artichoke dip which was really good, however the pita chips were like stale pita bread that had been left out for a week. We then moved to getting a burger which I got medium rare. It was too rare and ended up falling apart and ripping, there was also no sear at all with minimum flavor. Her sister got chicken and waffles with a side of bacon and it came out very dry and overcooked on some parts as if it had been in a warmer.
Their house made ketchup is mid at best and overall the experience in terms of food was not something worth writing home to.
Lastly, the service. The lady we had was showing visible signs of holding back from the annoyance of the requests I had given. My fiance is pregnant and requires certain things and also to have things not be around her.
Overall this was an unenjoyable experience, for literally the entire group. Most people didn’t even touch their food after a bite. We will not be back. That being said, the orange juice isn’t bad.
