When in Vermont, I always like to have dinner one night at a high end or farm to table restaurant. When I booked online, I mentioned that I am a Chef in NYC.
The restaurant is right before you enter Woodstock and is beautiful. I was properly greeted when I entered.
I had a fabulous German Reisling with dinner. I ordered the grilled Spanish octopus to start, which was amazingly good and fork tender. The grilled sourdough bread with butter was so good! The Chef came out to meet me because he read that I was a Chef. We had a great conversation, and I said that being half Greek, any Greek would have been proud of his octopus.
For the main course I ordered the halibut with corn, chorizo, and asparagus. Delicious! For dessert I had the pumpkin creme brulee with crumbled ginger snap cookies. Perfect way to end a perfect meal. I will definitely be back.

Gnocchi were described as “pillows from heaven” and they were just that. Bucatini was excellent and flavor packed. Quaint, warm and inviting dining area only seating about 40 total. You can tell the chef puts heart and soul into the dishes served. Feels exclusive. Make your reservation ahead of time and enjoy this one of a kind restaurant just outside of downtown Woodstock

Amazing breakfast and host.
I never ate a mushroom toast so good in my life. I could not even imagine how a dish can get any better.
Even the coffee, clearly high quality beans, toast and made with care.
Price for what you get is a steal.

We came here for their prix fixe NYE dinner and everything was AMAZING. We loved the food, drinks and our server Lindsay was wonderful. We were hesitant to go because of the lack of reviews, but I am so glad we went! Highly recommend!

We spent a week in Woodstock and did every single restaurant there (Prince & Pauper, Sante, Richardson’s tavern etc.). Oakes & Evelyn really stands out. The only upper hand restaurant in the area. Great food, attention to detail, dish presentation, service. Everything is excellent. Highly recommended

This is one of the best restaurants in the area. Everything was fantastic. We went for breakfast, but we can’t wait to go for dinner.

My husband and I dined here for Valentine’s weekend. We are local and were excited to try a new restaurant for the occasion. We had dressed nice (dress, heels, nice sweater, etc) given its was advertised as “fine dining” and expecting date night vibes for the holiday. Unfortunately, other patrons were dressed in leisure wear and it definitely brought down the atmosphere. The waitress was attentive and we were seated in the main dining area, which had a nice fireplace. For food, we got the labneh (8/10, star of the show), mushroom bao (5/10, bland), hamache (2/10, weird bitter taste, cold hard fridge rice on the side), gnocchi (5/10, bland cream sauce), and duck bucatini (5/10, bland). We came looking for a fancy night out and felt generally underwhelmed. Not really worth the price.

Get a reservation ahead of time with this sweet spot. Not many places to eat near by. It’s attached to their glass shop where you can watch the glass blowers downstairs
