If you want a taste of El Salvador, this is the place to go. Sarita’s Pupuseria is famous for its soft handmade pupusas stuffed with fillings like queso, friolles, and chicharron, as well as other traditional dishes like platanos, yuca con chicharron, and stews. They’re located inside the Grand Centra Market-DTLA.

I came as a first time customer to get my favorite Platanos Fritos. And I liked it. Those PF (plantains) are soft, warm and naturally sweet. However, the serving is very small for $7.63 price. It’s literally six plantains that I devoured in 1 minute.

Anyways, their staff and service were nice and efficient. Atmosphere was hot. Overall, it’s a good spot to get Platanos.

Decided to try because of all the good reviews posted on their store.
It was my first time trying a pupusa so I’m not sure what a good one tastes like. 1 pupusa is big enough to fill you up.

Took 25 minutes to make half my order because they forgot the other half. In total for just 2 pupusas it took them 40 minutes. They were not busy, they never apologized and just told me to wait for my food. It was slow with 3 people working. They used to be better and the services wasn’t right. Very rude about there mess up.

I visited during the lunch rush, so I expected a bit of a wait, but the service was slower than anticipated. Given the time it took—about 15 minutes—I was hoping for a more authentic dish. Instead of the 4-ounce steak I expected, I was served bits of ground meat mixed with scrambled eggs, which was a letdown. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations for quality or value

I love the market where this place is located. There are so many different foodstalls to choose from that it can sometimes be a little intimidating. I’d never had pupusas before so decided to give it a shot and I was not disappointed. The food was prepped right before us and served hot and fresh. The coleslaw had a nice kick and crunch to it. I recommend getting the Yuka fries, they were very good.

I used to come to Sarita’s Pupuseria back in early 2021, and for a long time, it was my favorite spot — the only place I’d go for pupusas. I recently went back with a friend visiting from abroad, excited to share one of my favorite places. Unfortunately, the cashier was very rude, which immediately took away from the experience.

I still decided to place my order because I know the women who make the food always do an excellent job, and the pupusas did not disappoint — they were as delicious as ever. However, when we picked up our food, the cashier continued to be rude, which made me feel bad for my guest who witnessed it.

It makes me really sad to say this, but because of the poor customer service, I don’t think I’ll be returning. The food is great, but the experience was very disappointing.

I had an event last week and order various items at Saritasl’s pupuseria. I ordered pupusas: carne asada, chicken, shrimp, revueltas and they all tasted amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant. My coworkers enjoyed the amazing tast. Thank you for the amazing service ❤️

At a pupuseria, you should really stick to the pupusas and this place holds up to their reputation. Went on a Wednesday around 530 and with a few orders in front of me, I only waited about 10 mins.
I had the Revuelta which is a mix of pork, bean and cheese. You have to get the slaw with a few squirts of the traditional hot sauce that ties it all together IMO. The hot sauce is spicy and the flavor of garlic and whatever else is amazing. The pupusa was hot and crispy coming off the flat top and went down smooth with a Modelo. They’re a good size bigger than average and worth the $5.50. Definitely swinging by next time for 1 while I’m still in town.

Great food. I highly recommend the pupusas and the yuca frita. The attention wasn’t that kind, but it’s was ok.
