Mama Sanninos is a classic family owned & family friendly Italian restaurant that serves all the classics. I got my food to go but had a look at the interior and it was a nice little spot that had that family owned feel.
I got the lasagna which was absolutely amazing, the marinara sauce was perfectly seasoned and just the right amount of cheese and portion in this $20 dish. The pastas had an option to come with salad or soup, so I tried the hearty Italian soup that was also equally as good.
I look forward to trying more dishes from this place in the future and giving another review. I’ll definitely be back.
The staff is great, pretty comical even. Feels like a fun place to work.
4/20/24 4pm: Wow! Excellent lasagna perfectly prepared. Big portion, too. Great attentive service. Nice quiet place.
Friendly stuff welcome you, older people serve you. I felt a bit uncomfortable because of that.
My server was very kind and friendly gentlemen with white hair.
I ordered a salad and spaghetti .
The salad was okay medium fresh, not cut the same day, but not bad. The salad consist by 1 cucumber slide, one small carrot one olive from the cheapest you can find and one beats pease, some greans on the bottom, roman salad (not so fresh) and agricola which I personally hate. Dressing Italian. I took the side of salad- just enough for a side salad.
I ordered half portion of spaghetti red souse. The pasta was cooked well, not overdone. Despite the water on the bottom of the plates, I eat it all. Very well done, flavor souse and spaghetti slightly over “,Al dente!”
They served the salad with Bread and Butter. The bread was not Italian. The butter was very good.
I usually do give good rating if I am willing to go again. Yes I recommend that place. Yes it is better than Olive Garden. Yes I will go eat there again ♥️
Grazie,!!!!
Fast friendly.
The food was pretty disappointing. I got the homemade noodles, and it was a very small portion, the sauce lacked good flavor and was too runny for my taste. I got the sausage to go with it, and it was just just ok, kinda bland, nothing special. Others in my group got the meatballs, and they weren’t special either. Sadly, I won’t be going back to try other selections on the menu…if you can’t get plain pasta right, I don’t give much hope to anything else.
There is no handicap entrance, you have to go up a curb to get in. I should talk to someone in wheatride about this. They forgot to serve us bread when we came in, and then brought it after the meal…I think they heard us talking about other tables that had gotten it.
It’s sad to see a great place get ruined, not sure if it is new owners or what, but it just isn’t the same

Original Review:
Awesome italian restaurant.
The sauce is great, sausages are define, paste and manicotti were great. Will definitely be back! Can’t believe I’ve never been here before.
My goal was to find a locally owned family style restaurant…this led us to Mama Sanninos!
The place was packed, good sign in my book, and after a small wait we were seated. I was thrilled to find out we were being waited on by none other than Mama Sannino herself!
We ordered the Crispy Ravioli for an appetizer and it was delicious! The raviolis were nicely stuffed with cheese…no flat pre-made raviolis here. The marinara sauce was great, it was perfectly seasoned.
My wife ordered the house salad with blue cheese dressing and the Half Ravioli and Half Pasta (homemade egg noodles) with 1 meatball and 1 sausage. Again, the raviolis were perfect and the homemade egg noodles were cooked perfectly and tasted great. Both the meatball and sausage were fantastic. She was also impressed with the blue cheese dressing and that it had real blue cheese chunks.
I ordered the minestrone soup and the Dave Mc’s Favorite Baked Rigatoni, it also came with a meatball and sausage. What I also found great was the massive amount of ricotta cheese they put into the dish…it was AWESOME! The minestrone was also great, it was seasoned and cooked perfectly.
I also want to point out that the meatballs were made from meat…not the cheap meatballs that are 90% bread and 10% meat…these are the real deal!
My daughter ordered buttered homemade egg noodles and she was also impressed.
Oh yeah…you better be hungry, because the orders are huge!
I live quite a few miles from Mama Sannino’s, but I guarantee you we will be back. The service was great, the food was great…the whole experience was great.
I grew up in NYC and ate at numerous restaurants in Little Italy so I know good Italian from bad Italian food, and I can honestly say that if you’re in the mood for Real Italian Food…look no further than Mama Sannino’s!
