Family owned restaurant that has been in this location for 8 years, but has been serving Denver Italian food for decades.

Mama Sanninos is a classic family owned & family friendly Italian restaurant that serves all the classics. I got my food to go but had a look at the interior and it was a nice little spot that had that family owned feel.

I got the lasagna which was absolutely amazing, the marinara sauce was perfectly seasoned and just the right amount of cheese and portion in this $20 dish. The pastas had an option to come with salad or soup, so I tried the hearty Italian soup that was also equally as good.

I look forward to trying more dishes from this place in the future and giving another review. I’ll definitely be back.

So happy to have found a quality Italian restaurant so.close to home. The food was phenomenal. I got the Chicken Parmesan and Caesar salad and both were amazing. The dressing was perfect and the red sauce was so flavorful and not too heavy or acidic. 10/10 recommend. Oh and get the Tea, nothing warms you up better on a chilly night

The staff is great, pretty comical even. Feels like a fun place to work.

I literally had one of the best meals of my life here. I don’t usually go for appetizers, main course, and desert, but I couldn’t help myself. The food was so DELICIOUS! The service was incredible, the atmosphere is beautiful and the whole experience was perfect! I can’t wait to go back and try everything! Definitely a must try!

4/21/24 11:40am: Well, they are *not* open on Sunday or at least not at 11am or 12noon as it says on Google Maps. It also says this on their **front door** (a piece of tape would fix this! I know that’s tacky but it would be effective) and on their website (so, I guess don’t join them for music Sunday afternoon or at least call first). A couple waited with me until noon.

4/20/24 4pm: Wow! Excellent lasagna perfectly prepared. Big portion, too. Great attentive service. Nice quiet place.

Absolutely incredible, flavorful, fresh food. If you want authentic Italian food, this is it. I got the Chicken Marsala with the house salad, and both were fantastic. Great selection of wines. Awesome, fast service.

The spot is very colorful and tipical Italian interior design.
Friendly stuff welcome you, older people serve you. I felt a bit uncomfortable because of that.
My server was very kind and friendly gentlemen with white hair.
I ordered a salad and spaghetti .
The salad was okay medium fresh, not cut the same day, but not bad. The salad consist by 1 cucumber slide, one small carrot one olive from the cheapest you can find and one beats pease, some greans on the bottom, roman salad (not so fresh) and agricola which I personally hate. Dressing Italian. I took the side of salad- just enough for a side salad.

I ordered half portion of spaghetti red souse. The pasta was cooked well, not overdone. Despite the water on the bottom of the plates, I eat it all. Very well done, flavor souse and spaghetti slightly over “,Al dente!”

They served the salad with Bread and Butter. The bread was not Italian. The butter was very good.

I usually do give good rating if I am willing to go again. Yes I recommend that place. Yes it is better than Olive Garden. Yes I will go eat there again ♥️
Grazie,!!!!

Fast friendly.

EDIT: The restaurant has changed names and unfortunately the food has changed too. The interior has been improved and it looks nicer, but I think it was just mainly paint and new decorations.

The food was pretty disappointing. I got the homemade noodles, and it was a very small portion, the sauce lacked good flavor and was too runny for my taste. I got the sausage to go with it, and it was just just ok, kinda bland, nothing special. Others in my group got the meatballs, and they weren’t special either. Sadly, I won’t be going back to try other selections on the menu…if you can’t get plain pasta right, I don’t give much hope to anything else.

There is no handicap entrance, you have to go up a curb to get in. I should talk to someone in wheatride about this. They forgot to serve us bread when we came in, and then brought it after the meal…I think they heard us talking about other tables that had gotten it.

It’s sad to see a great place get ruined, not sure if it is new owners or what, but it just isn’t the same

I’m sick and tired with both big chain restaurants and restaurants that use big fancy words to describe their food, which in most cases translates to small overpriced dishes that are not too special.

My goal was to find a locally owned family style restaurant…this led us to Mama Sanninos!

The place was packed, good sign in my book, and after a small wait we were seated. I was thrilled to find out we were being waited on by none other than Mama Sannino herself!

We ordered the Crispy Ravioli for an appetizer and it was delicious! The raviolis were nicely stuffed with cheese…no flat pre-made raviolis here. The marinara sauce was great, it was perfectly seasoned.

My wife ordered the house salad with blue cheese dressing and the Half Ravioli and Half Pasta (homemade egg noodles) with 1 meatball and 1 sausage. Again, the raviolis were perfect and the homemade egg noodles were cooked perfectly and tasted great. Both the meatball and sausage were fantastic. She was also impressed with the blue cheese dressing and that it had real blue cheese chunks.

I ordered the minestrone soup and the Dave Mc’s Favorite Baked Rigatoni, it also came with a meatball and sausage. What I also found great was the massive amount of ricotta cheese they put into the dish…it was AWESOME! The minestrone was also great, it was seasoned and cooked perfectly.

I also want to point out that the meatballs were made from meat…not the cheap meatballs that are 90% bread and 10% meat…these are the real deal!

My daughter ordered buttered homemade egg noodles and she was also impressed.

Oh yeah…you better be hungry, because the orders are huge!

I live quite a few miles from Mama Sannino’s, but I guarantee you we will be back. The service was great, the food was great…the whole experience was great.

I grew up in NYC and ate at numerous restaurants in Little Italy so I know good Italian from bad Italian food, and I can honestly say that if you’re in the mood for Real Italian Food…look no further than Mama Sannino’s!

This is a brand new restaurant, in the location of a previous Italian restaurant called Mama’s. The place is all new inside, clean and modern but with some nice authentic touches. The staff was absolutely top notch in terms of friendliness and service. In fact, it was like the kind of service you used to expect in restaurants but has disappeared in most these days. We had the mussels, which were good. We also had the Caeser salad, which was very good. The dressing was perfect and lightly applied–not overwhelming like some places choose. The meatballs were also very good, with just a hint of spiciness. We also had the chicken parmesan, and that was great! The sauce was bright and fresh, just like in Italy, and the accompanying spaghetti was perfectly cooked. The pinot noir was also nice and well balanced, similar to an Italian house wine. They have only been open six days at this point, but they are already on their game. We drove 39 miles to visit there tonight on the suggestion of a neighbor and don’t regret it at all. They are going to be adding pizza to the menu in just a few days, as their pizza ovens just arrived, so I will certainly go back to try that. Please, give them a try!

This little restaurant packs a flavorful punch. We have been here about four times. The service is friendly and the ambience quaint. The menu features Italian pasta staples, and is not overwhelming The food is served quickly and is very tasty. This is a good restaurant when you just want a good, reliable, snd satisfying Italian food.
