I had high expectations for El Norte Taco Shop, but it turned out pretty average. I ordered the street taco combination, portion was very generous…the food wasn’t bad, just nothing special, and the meat was noticeably salty. Overall, it’s okay for a quick bite, but not something I’d go out of my way for again.

this is just an elevated version of Del taco or Taco Bell, not authentic Mexican but rather gentrified Mexican catered to the area Not for what authentic taco seekers look for. we had the quesadilla today. It was graded cheddar jack cheese with a side of guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, light on pico, the salsa Verde and red was water down With minimal flavor again, mostly catered to Taco Bell Enthusiast I give it a 2 out of 10

2025 Update: We’ve been frequenting El Norte Taco Shop for over two years now, and it’s high time I updated my review. This place continues to impress with every visit! The food is consistently outstanding, and the staff remains incredibly friendly and welcoming. Whether we dine in or opt for takeout, the experience is always seamless. We love experimenting with new menu items each time, and we’re never disappointed the quality shines through in every dish.

I don’t usually have a problem with the place, food is really good and usually always nice, but today was different. I went in to get a breakfast burrito, which they stop at 1, it was 2pm. They’ve made me one in the past after the time limit, so I thought it would be ok. Apparently, it depends on which cook it is and what kind of mood he’s in! Unless he owns the place or is a manager then i understand, but because of his mood??! Now they just lost my business and my $40 that I usually spend there because of his mood. Thankfully, there are other spots that happily fulfill my order. Won’t be back for a while. Also, they weren’t even busy!!

I ordered a carnitas burrito with no pico de gallo for myself and 3 street tacos for my wife. She said the tacos were fine but my burrito was really bad. The meat was old and tasted like it was starting to turn. Although I ordered it without pico there was about 3 small pieces of onion, no cilantro, no guacamole and only a small smear of beans. So basically just old meat in a tortilla. When I called to let them know, the lady that answered was very dismissive. She acted like she couldn’t wait to get off the phone. Never offered an apology or a replacement. We’ve been there several times because it’s close and my wife likes the tacos but everything else has been either mediocre or bad. BTW, the place always has a strong odor of a bad smelling floor cleaner. Not very appetizing. For the price they charge it’s definitely not worth it.

I love this place and will return for more soon! The vibe is awesome starting from the greeting at the counter. Food is on point and served in these original metal trays. I had the street tacos which were tasty, fresh and delicious. Comes highly recommended.

I’ve always wanted to try this restaurant every time I pass by on Oso Blanca Road, or if I happen to be in the same plaza this restaurant is in. Needless to say, my interest was increasing during the last several months until recently, I finally got to try this restaurant for the first time. My family and I ate here on 29 Mar 2024 and I’d say overall, I “liked” this restaurant. When we walked in, we were greeted very nicely by the two employees located at the front of the restaurant. The lady taking our order was super nice and patient considering this was our first time at this place and I needed a few minutes to decide what to order (it didn’t help that I was starving and wanted to order everything on the menu).
We ordered the Quesabirria Street Tacos, Carne Asada Burrito, Regular Birria Street Tacos, Carne Asada Nachos, Chicken Street Taco, and Agua Fresca. The food was made to order and everything tasted fresh. I noticed one of the food preparers was a Dallas Cowboys fan, and although I’m not a fan of that team, I was extremely amazed at how quick he and the folks were at preparing our food – it was appreciated considering my hunger status. Aside from wanting to try this place for the last several months, one of my main reasons to visit this place was due to the Birria Tacos. I have never tried those and have been wanting to try it for quite some time. I’ve done searches within a 15-mile radius from my house and this was one of many that popped up. I was slightly disappointed that the Birria Tacos weren’t the crispy shell I was anticipating and even though the consomé was delicious (yes, I even drank from the bowl), I felt that the onion chunks were excessive…considering that the tacos already had a tremendous amount of onions itself. Don’t get me wrong, I’m normally the, “You can never have enough garlic and onions,” type-of-guy, but in this case, it was a little too much. The Chicken Street Taco was decent, nothing to write home to Mom and Dad about. Also, the Carne Asada Burrito was delicious and massive (I think I’m gaining 3 pounds right now just talking about it); and the Agua Fresca was refreshing!
The décor was decent but slightly on the plain side. The price-to-quantity/quality was reasonable and adequate. I highly respect this business for supporting the men and women of the Armed Forces (including Veterans of course) – I appreciate this a lot. All-in-all, I can definitely see myself coming back to try other items on the menu. I wanted to try the carnitas but unfortunately, I can only consume a set amount of food in one sitting. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

I find that generally when I get beef from a small Mexican restaurant, its dry or bland or both.
I ordered the beef flautas, and i was surprisingly pleased! I wish I had ordered more they were so moist and flavorful. I cant wait to visit again and try more of their dished! ❤️

I love their carne asada is so tender and an amazing flavor definitely an amazing addition to this area. We needed some good tacos. Also their shrimp tacos and fish tacos best I’ve had here in Vegas.

The Fish tacos were extremely good! I will definitely be getting them again. My wife had the Carne nachos and she was also very happy with her food. Definitely check this place out.
