This place is simply amazing. I had chicken strips, one of the lunch specials. I think it was $10.50. it came with soup or salad. I got the soup of the day. Cheese soup. It was 10/10. Just the right amount as well. The chicken strips were very good withe the ranch sauce. I picked frys as my other side. They were what you would expect but there was about double what I could eat. I noticed that almost everyone left with extras. So it seems their portions are very generous. I would definitely recommend stopping in if you get a chance.

Awesome little friendly restaurant in quaint downtown Clarinda, IA. Was not craving pizza so I went with the grilled chicken. It was very well prepared and came with a wonderful side salad. Cheap $3 Miller Lite, too!

Everything was amazing. The food, The service, and even the look. Pizza cheese came off way too easy but I genuinely couldn’t get past how good the food was to even complain. Well kept place.

The steak was very good, but the lasagna was hard as a rock and I could not believe how small of a portion I got for the price. A small steak and a little portion of lasagna should not cost $37. My husband and I will not be eating here again. We are very disappointed.

So. A party of 5 individuals walk in. It’s some of our first time in Clarinda so we had high hopes. We get our food, one of the girls’s burgers was completely RAW. Pink in the center. We sent it back and we got the exact same patty with the same bite mark, just a different bun. Was still pink on the inside. Sent it back a second time and IT WAS THE SAME PATTY, same bite mark. It wasn’t pink, however the bottom was very charred. Also gave us a new bun. Instead of getting a new patty, they recooked the patty 3 times all wrong. As an added bonus, my spaghetti was super watery, could have drank the sauce. Service was alright, just a very disappointing experience!

Server was exceptionally rude. She made the comment that we ordered weird stuff which I don’t understand since we ordered what was on the menu. She forgot a salad and got one of our pizzas wrong then claimed the kitchen was getting a lot of orders wrong this night. If the service didn’t already get a 1 star review then the food would. Pizza was unbelievably bland.

We always enjoy stopping over in Clarinda for J’s. The owners are a wonderful, friendly family & their food is always just what we’d want! Our kiddos love their spaghetti & other family members love their pizza. There are always good menu options for everyone & we have yet to have any bad service.
