This morning I ordered an Açaí Bowl online. When I arrived to pick up the bowl I noticed that there was little to no Açaí in the bowl. Only fruit and granola in the bowl. When I asked the employees about it they said the bowl is filled to the full line. Even the advertisement for the bowl has more Açaí than what I received. This is so disappointing as I’ve waited a long time for this location to open because it’s close to home. I frequent Tropical smoothie locations daily for the Açaí Bowl and wraps. Please look into this matter and retrain your employees on how to properly prepare the bowl as it’s too expensive not receive the correct proportion. I have attached photos of the advertised açaí bowl, açaí bowl I received this morning from the Douglasville location (2 pics) vs one received from another location. I hope my review is read by the owner and immediate action is taken.

I came to this Douglasville location yesterday and again today hoping to have a better experience. I regularly get the Bahama Mama smoothie at other locations and it tasted off both days at this location. It tastes like the water is not properly
Filtered. Each time two different people made my smoothie so it can’t be the workers. I def won’t be back!

Very disappointed. I walked into this location and placed my smoothie order at 7:30 and by 7:45 it still wasn’t ready. The two young ladies working seemed unbothered and showed no sense of care. I ended up asking for a refund and going somewhere else. I’ll be contacting corporate because this experience was unacceptable. Service like this truly affects a business.

I stopped by around 8:45pm to order an Açaí bowl along with smoothies for my family. When I placed my order, the cashier repeated it back, but another worker quickly interrupted saying they were “out of Açaí bowls” I looked straight ahead and saw multiple Açaí bowls sitting right there in the cooler. It’s disappointing because the store doesn’t close until 9pm — if you’re still open, customers should be able to order what’s advertised. I understand wanting to wrap up for the night, but honesty and good customer service go a long way.

Food is good here but it takes forever to get order. Workers legit take their time making your drinks. I usually order so that I don’t have to wait but this is my second time ordering in store and it legit took 30 to 40 mins for my order.

I arrived at Tropical Smoothie on September 15th around 8:30 PM, and even though the posted hours said open until 9:00 PM, the doors were already locked. The team lead refused my walk-in order while the online ordering system was still active. On top of that, staff were rude, and a family member outside even shouted profanity at me. Very unprofessional and
misleading — customers deserve service during the posted hours.

Industry Standard: Cleaning and closing tasks are part of the shift and are expected to be done after closing time or while still serving customers up until closing.

Customer Expectation: Posted hours create a promise to customers — if the sign says open until 9:00 PM, customers reasonably expect service until 9:00 PM.

Professional Practice: Locking doors early to make cleaning easier sends the message that convenience for staff comes before customer service, which damages the brand’s reputation.

Franchise/Corporate Rules: Chains like Tropical Smoothie usually have strict policies requiring employees to serve until the stated closing time. Closing early without approval can violate those rules and get a location in trouble with corporate.

I keep trying to give this location a fair chance. I ordered an Açaí bowl in the store. I explained to the young lady how the last few time there was little to no açaí in my bowl. She said she understood and would make sure that it was up to par this time. I always order my bowl with no bananas extra strawberries because I don’t like to freeze the banana. They almost got it right this time but they forgot the granola and the honey drizzle and for a frequent customer I find that this is unacceptable. The bowls are already on the pricey side and I shouldn’t have to get home and redo or fix my bowl when I’ve expected it to be made right in the store. I’m starting to feel that this location just doesn’t live up to the tropical smoothie Café brand that I’m accustomed to.

I had the BEST experience at Tropical Smoothie thanks to Destiny! From the moment I walked in, she was so personable and sweet you could tell she genuinely enjoys helping people. Her energy was positive, and her customer service was a 10 across the board!

She helped me place my order with ease, made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it, and even took the time to recommend an açaí bowl for next time (which I definitely can’t wait to try!). It’s rare to find someone so friendly and helpful Destiny made the whole experience that much better.

I’ll absolutely be telling everyone to come to this location because of her. Give that girl a raise!

I came into the new Chapel Hill location on 7/30. It was about 15mins before closing time. I stood at the register while the employees were going back and forth about something with no acknowledgment that I was even there. Finally I had to let them know I was there and needed to order and reluctantly the employee came over and with attitude took my order. Now I was extremely excited when this location opened because of the healthier options it has available to me. However this behavior is unacceptable being that this location is brand new and first impressions are vital.

I stopped by Tropical Smoothie in Chapel Hill on July 4th, and I just had to share what a great experience I had! As soon as I walked in, there was a group of young teenagers working who brought such great energy and good vibes to the place. They were upbeat, friendly, and clearly worked well together.

They got my food and drinks out quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality. It really made my visit enjoyable and stress free. Huge thanks to the kids working that day you all made my holiday stop feel extra special!
