Wow, what a lovely evening at Three Birds! It was a special occasion for us, and Faith took such good care of us. We ordered a bottle of Laluca Prosecco, the grilled salmon with risotto on the side, and the prime rib which my husband absolutely adored. The ambiance was wonderful, and we would happily return the next time we’re in town!

This is a classic fine dinning restaurant. They have safe gluten-free options. It’s one of my “go-to” places when I want a meal I know won’t disappoint!

On vacation in the area. Stopped at the Corning Museum of Glass. Found the restaurant. Amazing food! The lamb special, Pork tenderloin, and Linguini and clams were amazing. Friendly staff. Great service.

The food was amazing. My first time having Wagu beef. It melted in my mouth. My son had the Mahi and my husband had the perogie poutine. We also had a couple of appetizers and finished with the chocolate pate.

There are many fine dining locations on Market Street, but rarely does one also include axe throwing. Three Birds offers a unique experience of fine dining, a well stocked bar with televisions, and adventure for those who wish to add an edge to their evening. They’re able to cater to various groups looking for a memorable evening, all at once, seamlessly.

Although Three Birds doesn’t strive to maintain a particular theme, what they do excel at is their fine dining. Their owner focuses on presenting to customers a beautifully presented dish paired with wines selected from popular regions of California, France, and Italy. The wine and food menu rotates often to maintain its unique charm and pairing, whereas most restaurants in the area keep the same tried and true formula. Their seasonal menu is a large driving force for those who visit the area during the Spring for Watkins Glen racing, the summer months for time at the lake and Glassfest, and enjoying the foliage during the fall.

From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a professional staff who is willing to accommodate your dietary needs. I had the pleasure of being served by Kate who has been with the establishment for some time. She was not only attentive to my needs, but also was engaged in those that she was waiting on, ensuring their evening remained memorable. Her recommendation on the special for the evening of Halibut being paired with the Chardonnay from France was an excellent choice. When asking about details of both the dish and the wine, she was able to assist me in visualizing the dish and talking of the notes that I would experience with the pairing for the wine being suggested. The couple sitting next to me, also received similar treatment as she was happy to share in her knowledge of the cuisines being offered. I got to experience their excitement too on her drink pairing with their meals as they expressed satisfaction in the recommendations she had made for them after listening to their own dietary needs.

The dish itself was exquisitely balanced with flavor and paired expertly with the bottle of the 2023 Chardonnay. As desert was discussed, the tiramisu was offered to bring a nice close to the evening. The price point for this dinner coming in just slightly above $100.

I would strongly suggest making reservations as the evening I went to all tables were seated with most not clearing out until after 8:30 towards closing. There is enough staff at the restaurant to ensure you’re not waiting long for service or requests, whereas at other locations on Market Street the ratio to tables to servers doesn’t work to one’s favor.

If you’re looking for a dining experience or want to celebrate a special occasion, consider Three Birds.

Three Birds is one of the best restaurants in Corning, NY. We’ve been going for years and have enjoyed many different entrees over time. In the past, I’ve enjoyed the scallops and salmon. For this to any experience, we both ordered the ribeye and added it on a lobster tail. It was exceptional! We appreciate their service, environment, and the food is always spectacular!

Update 2025– still amazing and a favorite of ours. Most recently we enjoyed the Rainbow Trout and the Beef Tips with Pierogies.

Giving 3 stars only because my steak had good flavor and was cooked as I ordered but outside of that, we had 3 different meals for our table, 1 appetizer, with a $230 bill(this is before tip) which again, totally fine for being upscale but what I didn’t like however is, paying that price while the mashed potatoes are literally instant potatoes, they say you are getting a 16oz. Steak yet any time I have ever gotten a 12oz. which is clearly smaller, from another steak serving restaurant or even buying fresh steak for home, they were bigger than this steak by far. The little back room part we were sat in(I’m guessing because we had a child with us so they played it safe and didnt want want us out in the fancier side, I get it even though thankfully our little one is well behaved)was really cold where we sat and the service was pretty slim. Truthfully, I just really cant get over the fact that our bill was $230(before tip) and we were served instant mashed potatoes at this “upscale” restaurant. Again, steak was good though.

I have been coming to the Corning Area for business meetings and conferences over the last several years, with Three Birds Restaurant as one of my go-to restaurants on Market Street. Their menu is constantly rotating, and the wine selection has been one of my favorites; however, on Friday the 9th, it appeared that there were only two waitresses serving the entire restaurant, when in the past there has been a more appropriate server-to-customer ratio. The food was delicious, as expected, but the service was subpar compared to what I have experienced – the servers seemed absent, and they both looked extremely overwhelmed. For a Friday night, why would you purposely understaff? I chalked it up to perhaps it was just a busy evening, and just a bad day for the restaurant staff with people calling off or being sick, which is understandable.

I came in again later in the week, on Wednesday, and brought associates with me, expecting a different outcome on a slower day, and introducing them to this place I love. Again, I found the service to be subpar and led to an embarrassing experience on my end as the host. The same shortage with servers, with constant delays in food and drink orders. What should’ve been a 45–60-minute dinner turned into something much longer, eating into other evening plans. Attentiveness was lacking, and we only saw the server 3 times at most, one of which we had to get their attention. Again, I only saw two girls waiting for what seemed like the whole restaurant and being overwhelmed once more.

This is an incredibly different experience I have had in terms of service compared to past visits. Are they purposely short-staffing, or is management not being attentive enough to plan correctly? I’m disappointed…

Hopefully, this is just a short-term issue with staffing, and they can hire additional personnel, or management needs to step up to fill in the gaps. Regardless, attentive service is a requirement if I am to spend $75-125 on a meal with drinks and I’ll be postponing future visits for a bit until this is settled.

I still would recommend Three Birds Restaurant if you’re looking for a great meal on Market Street, but one might be better off service-wise sitting at the bar versus the table in the short term.
