First time trying today. DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! I’m a foodie and a great cook. I’ve eaten all over the world. My mother in law was classically trained at the Paris Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts …she taught me all I know, so going out is hard. I’m always critiquing, and often disappointed…especially in this economy. I feel like restaurant standards went way down after Covid. NOT THIS PLACE!!! WORTH EVERY PENNY. Run don’t walk.

Great business supporting the locals of bay city! Was driving to family Christmas and had the best chicken dinner. Haven’t had a chance to try their menu yet, but was honestly driving by just to check it out! Will surely be back next time I’m in town.

Food: Tacos are pretty bland in flavor they desperately need a sauce. The rice was absolutely the best rice I’ve ever had…. ever! Their quesadlilla was exceptional, as was the elote. As for the loaded beef fries… they were great (fries themselves), queso was fantastic, and the beef was “there,” but not good on its own.
Service: too slow & the cashier disappeared for a while when we were looking to pay.
Atmosphere: the chairs we sat in were actually quite comfortable; however, everything else was just not the right vibe for eating in their establishment. Additionally, there wasn’t a public use bathroom.

Cool, authentic restaurant and grocery store vibe. Lots of food options and honestly, the meat is so good. I had brisket, carnitas, and Barbacoa. They were all fire. I care deeply about Mexican cuisine and I give Gilly’s the highest marks.

I had a great meal here trying them out for the 1st time. I lived in Phoenix for 20 years and used to getting some great birria tacos so I thought I would try theirs. I was definitely not disappointed. I ordered the 3 birria taco special which also came with beans and rice.
The owners Gilly and Diana were both there and very kind. They brought out new beans for us as Gilly wasn’t happy with the batch he had which was not necessary but appreciated. They were also able to accommodate my mother who has some dietary restrictions. We also had a puffy taco and their broccoli cheese soup, both which were good.
The decor is neat, I like the painted banner on the side of the building. Restrooms were clean and I appreciated the small market they had set up for retail purchases.

Hands down, one of the best places to eat in town! The staff couldn’t be more welcoming! When the Chef comes out and greets the guests is one of my favorite things. This man puts FLAVOR in his food! What a perfect spot in a quiet area. Atmosphere is a 10/10. I had the street tacos and everything down to their salsa has flavor. I have had takeout from there before but never went in. Didn’t know what I was missing! If you haven’t tried Gilly’s I promise you won’t be disappointed. Even down to the grocery section is perfect. Amazing job everyone! You have a pretty amazing thing going on! I also work for a small business and know how it can be to gain clientele. As long as you keep doing what you’re doing, you will be solid! Thank you again for an amazing lunch today. I will be back!

First thing thst comes to mind is WOW! It was such a cool feeling walking into this Bistro as I have not seen a place like this Anywhere near by, and the asethetic was through the roof! I was greated very warmly by the cashier/waitress and she even gave me the recommendation of the Barria Tacos which I have always wanted to try. These Tacos were absolutely phenomenal! The crunch was addicting, and the flavor makes you want more and more! The prep cook Lupe came over and asked me how everything was and was extremely nice and it was so pleasant to see and hear. The cook behind the outstanding food was Sally, and she was even nice enough to take a picture with me and it was fantastic. If you haven’t tried this place yet, you are absolutely missing out. I will be back to try their Puffy Tacos which were recommended to me by the Waitress and Owner, and the owner was also a wonderful guy that had the customers and food all in mind. I will be back, and you should give them a shot as well!
