Asian Sweet Bakery is legit. My spouse is Chinese and from the greater L.A. area and he fully endorses Asian Sweet Bakery. He brought me here for the first time and I instantly fell in love with the red bean paste buns. The coconut custard bun and the egg custard buns are what’s up! The prices are great and the interior of the bakery is exactly what you would expect if you’ve been in an Asian bakery before. Word of advice to non-Asian folks: Asian buns are not as intensely sweet as a standard American bakery. But it’s absolutely worth trying – especially Asian Sweet Bakery. Give it a shot!

Cool place. Not very much space for sitting, though. Nice woman. Has a sweets menu, but also has food, too. Menu’s on the walls.

Highly recommended! Baked treats, BBQ crepes, and pot stickers were spot on.

Update: My family and I have been stopping by this little bakery for the past three years and they still have some of the best house made Chinese bakery items/cuisine! The BBQ crepes and buns are some of our favorites. My son loves the pork floss buns and my wife says the stir fried pickled mustard greens and pork reminds her of home. Don’t miss out on the BBQ fried rice either. Simple, yet so flavorful.

Go early or call in your order ahead of time. Bakery items sell quickly, but the younger man who takes our order is always nice and works quickly.

I really like going to this place! The pastries here are really good, my only problem with them is how sweet they are. Like, I’ll be eating a cream bun and then I’ll get overwhelmed with the sweetness, so I have to wait until later to eat it again. That’s both a compliment and a complaint somehow. Aside from that, everything here is really good!

I don’t have a sweet tooth, so their baked goods are irrelevant to me, and I’ve yet to try their entrees, so I’m no real judge of their menu – I’m here to sing the praises of the sticky rice wrapped in leaves (bamboo?) – It’s the blandest thing that I find satisfying (And I enjoy the real hot Sichuan up Park St at Ichiban!) The bit of chicken, the soft peanuts, the subtle herbal flavor imparted to the rice by the leaf wrap – It’s just good (The rice is certainly cooked in broth, verging on pudding, but it’s not any sweeter than the rice alone might make it.) It’s comfort food, and it will keep me coming back, especially at $4. Think medium/ large baked potato with butter or sour cream for an equivalent lipid-starch satisfaction.
(2 minutes each in the microwave if you carry them away cold.)

Right off the bat, parking is street parking and free. However, if you get lucky this place does have like a two car parking lot.

This place has lots of sweets to buy. There’s lots to choose from such as sweet red bean bread, Chinese donuts, sesame balls, pork filled buns, etc. My advice is to get there early so the sweets are fresh and still available. They tend to run out of the more popular items like sesame balls early.

If you’re not into sweets, they do have a limited food menu you can order from. The food is not your typical American Chinese food, which if you’re looking for more authentic Chinese food, this us the place. Expect things like dishes cooked with tendon or intestines. They do have your typical chinese dishes as well.

Overall would recommend for sweets and more authentic Chinese food.

Recommended by Reddit and the food was great. I’ve been searching for a good Asian bakery and this hit the spot.

Parking is very limited so you will need to park on the road but that should be plenty.

As an authentic Asian, this restaurant really gives off that real vibe. No it’s not beautiful but that kid in the corner doing homework really sells it.

The food is great and well priced, if you’re missing a taste of the homeland this is it.

Always a favorite when we are visiting near Park Street. My personals favorites include the coconut custard bun, cheese twist and sponge cake. Very reasonable prices too! Absolutely love this place and have introduced it to many people over the years.

Get the egg custard tarts! We were introduced to this wonderful treat in China Town, San Francisco. Since then, we’ve been searching for somewhere to get them and this is the place! Absolutely delicious decadent treat! And the prices are so good. We walk out of there with 2 bags of goodies for under $15. The cheesy twists are also fantastic!
