The Amish Door Bakery is the only place that we have found that has the absolute best Apple Fritters in all of Amish Country. They are located off of SR 62 in Wilmot about 15 mins from Berlin Oh off of SR 39. We have tried Apple Fritters from most of the bakeries with huge disappointment, and we always end up back at the Amish Door Bakery with each visit, even if its just for a box of 4 Apple Fritters. Enjoy the photos from our recent trip from September 2025…. The Amish Door also offers a dinner buffet as well and a bulk food store on the complex.

Some of the best donuts I’ve ever had. The apple fritter was crunchy and fluffy at the same time. All the donuts were so good. The donut with the cherry and whipped frosting on top was delicious. None of the donuts tasted oily or greasy. I can’t wait to come back.

This place is beautiful! They have a lovely inn with a great outside atmosphere! My wife and I stopped by their bakery, and I tried a maple old fashioned donut, Bavarian creme frosted donut, a cherry pie and their beef vegetable soup.
The maple frosted regular donut was the best donut I have ever eaten! Beats Dunkin, Krispy Kreme, and other mom and pop donuts shops I have eaten in NYC. The donut was moist and not overly sweet. The maple flavor was really good. I ate it, so no picture, but it is labeled as a buttermilk donut, cost less than $2.00 and absolutely worth it.
The vegetable soup was delicious, and chunky with tons of vegetables and beef for 7.00 in a huge container. The pie was amazing, and I got a discount on it cause of the date, but believe it or not, it still tastes pretty fresh and moist.
I would highly recommend this place! Worth the visit, and they have a restaurant and small gift shop. Also night time rates to rent are decent, from $150 to $180 a night I believe. I will consider booking with them in the future.

Their baked goods are top notch and the service is wonderful! I gotta get my lady one of their big muffins every time I go!

I’ve been coming here for decades. The drive down from Akron is well worth it. The pepperoni bread is my husband’s favorite, whereas mine us the buttermilk frosted pumpkin cookie. Honestly, I’ve never had anything bad from here even if it’s not to my taste on a normal basis. Besides the pastries and breads, they have pies, jar goods and deli items as well as fudge and candy (I don’t look at that stuff so I can’t go into detail). The staff has always been helpful when I’ve been there.

There are a wide variety of baked goods and sweet treats. The lady who helped us was very polite and patient, even with several young ones. The cherry, sugar free pie we got was delicious and you could hardly tell there was no sugar in it .

I always love the fresh pastries. Just need to get there earlier before they run out of the delicious blueberry scones. Grand daughter loves the cupcakes. Every thing is really good.

Terrible customer service. The lady was getting my donuts out of the case, the phone rang & she proceeded to take a cake order. I waited 5 minutes & left. Went down the street about 6 – 8 miles & bought my donuts, bread, & other items.
Will never go back! Found a better place that appreciates their customers.
