I am on the hunt to find the very best pizza within an hours drive, so I wanted to try Bud’s pizza since I never have and it’s not in my local area but I was in the area. I was attracted to the google reviews, which led me to ordering a few menu items. My favorite style pizza is extra cheese, pepperoni, and mushroom, so I ordered their large style pizza this way. I also ordered their large Italian sub, because that’s a favorite of my children and Italian subs are simple and one of those items that’s hard to mess up.
Something to consider with pizza, there are many factors that make pizza either good or bad. The amount of dough, sauce, and toppings, freshness of ingredients, thickness of the crust, and how well it’s cooked (under cooked, just right, over cooked). I prefer a thinner crust, not doughy, crunch in the outer crust, considerable amount of toppings, and a good balance of sauce (even extra to dip in).
The pizza sauce on the pizza has a subtly sweet flavor and there was a great balance of sauce to topping ratio. That’s not a find I find too often. The toppings were adequate, the only thing I didn’t prefer is the mushrooms appeared to be canned. I only like fresh mushrooms, big taste and texture difference for me. The extra cheese was just right, too. The one area that I didn’t overly enjoy was the crust. As I noted above, my preference is a thin crust, but I always can’t find it. The crust wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t what I prefer. My overall review is that the pizza was good. It was cooked well, not doughy, had the right ratio of sauce and toppings and enjoyed eating it.
I tried the sub to get a taste of the flavors. No complaints from me or family. It was filled and wasn’t skimpy on the filling. Ratio of bread to filling is important and I think they hit the mark.
We ordered by phone, picks up in the store, and it was an easy transaction and everything received was as expected.
Overall, we all enjoyed the pizza and subs here and would be back again to try more!

The price hikes continue. I know we have inflation but $7.42 for 2 slices of pizza is no longer somewhere I’ll go for lunch.

We have ordered your pizzas they are always delicious, today we ordered pizza and a sub, the sub was excellent perfect for 2 people 15 inches. For me 3 meals loaded with meat and lettuce,tomatoes and onion. I will be ordering again maybe just a smaller sub since my husband does not eat subs. Thank you Delicious

It is such a blessing to truly say we have found a great place to have a fantastic place to eat. Àlthough it is only for take out, I would say THEY only miss out seeing the satisfied faces of eating the delicious food they have prepared for us. I can personally say the subs and wedgies are even better than the old Tobey’s that we loved. They are actually filled with the meat and cheese product, not overly whelmed with lettuce. The bread is so delicious, it’s hard to stop eating even when your belly is saying I’m full. If anyone does NOT try Bud’s Pizza, you are solely missing out. Thank you for bringing a fantastic take out meal for us to enjoy. I pray you reach the day when your open the whole week.

I have to say everything we ordered was really good (pizza, stromboli, salad), but the Chicago deep dish was off the charts. When they handed me the box, it felt like it was filled with cement. By far the heaviest pizza I’ve ever ordered. I was worried about having enough food for the group as I thought each person would eat two pieces. We didn’t have anyone capable of eating more than one! I REALLY wanted to, and I’m sure it could be done, but it was piece #2 or breathing. You think that would be an easy choice, but I thought about it hard! Worth every penny…I’ll buy it every time I order.
