Spent the last 2 nights at this spot, it’s our favorite place in Bristol!! Kristen was so nice to us and she served us drinks all night long as we ate Andy’s special smash burgers, fries, chicken sandwiches and wings!!! The live band was awesome everyone was dancing and having a grand old time, we also played a few competitive games of pool! No one wanted to leave and the band gave the people what they wanted with 3 Encore songs!! We wrapped up our Vermont trip with an amazing night at the South Mountain Tavern, thank you so much Kristen and Andy!

This place is your basic, everyday corner bar, where everyone knows your name, the service is friendly and the food works perfectly for the evening. Great burgers though and awesome martini’s.
The staff is friendly, personable and happy to be there. Music? Great music by local folks and then there’s the pool table in the back. Definitely a “go to” place when all else fails and also when you just want a good meal at a great price with fantastic atmosphere.

It’s a cute little bar. My partner and I enjoyed the atmosphere of a little bar in a small town! They even play live music every Friday (which we went to) the only downfall was we waited over an hour for food. But the food was good so can’t complain too much!

It’s really unfortunate that this once popular place has become what it is! Limited operation hours ( what bar isn’t open on a Saturday??!) and VERY slow service. The line was almost out the door for drinks/food! If they had more help, they wouldn’t be losing buisness. One person to bartend, take orders and run the food is ridiculous!
The first round of drinks (only two) were $23! Then when I went back to order the EXACT SAME drinks they were $19.
Will not recommend, and will not return. I remember going to this bar when it was hatch 31every week, boy it’s taken such a dive since then. So sad!

Staff and family are fun and friendly. The chef makes his own dressings…love his Caesar salad dressing and Smash Burger Sauces. Remembered our names from first visit. Music is varied and always good.

South Mountain is our weekly date night spot. We love Kristen and Ian. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is just like cheers we always feel welcomed and enjoy every moment when we are there.
