We were a large group (14 of us after a bike ride in Lake Rebecca Park)-called ahead & they accommodated us without a hassle. The food and beverages were very good! The menu was more than burgers & fries. Our waitress was wonderful, especially with our large group!

Waitress reeked of smoke and actually took a smoke break right in the front of the restaurant between taking our drink order and our food order. The “philly cheese steak” is simply, not. It’s a rubbery sirloin cut up into a few pieces on a soggy bun. Awful.

We have lived in Rockford for a bit over a year now and Clay’s is one of our favorite spots. The food is great and so is the service. Tonight bingo and a Walleye sandwich. Delicious! The Waleye was battered in a Pistachio beer batter and the fries were on point. Super yum! I’m sending a shout out to Pete and Jess. You 2 rock!

Friendly staff, good food, good drinks – great go-to bar to hang out at. Met the owner and he was the nicest guy! We love to get the Buffalo chicken wrap and the chicken tender melt. Food comes out fast! Amazing fries!!

It was a little bit busy. I sat at the bar, and the bartender Sarah asked me right away what I wanted! I ordered a drink and food. The food was out in less than 10 min. Everything was very good.

If you’re thinking about playing pull tabs at Clay’s Bar & Grill, don’t bother unless you’re friends with the staff. We sat there playing the same box for over an hour, spending real money, and our waitress blatantly watched us do it. Then she waits for her boyfriend to show up and told him to play the exact same box we were playing. Of course he pulled the last big one we were trying to get.
That’s not bad service, that’s shady, trashy, and completely unethical. Instead of taking care of paying customers, she helped her boyfriend swoop in on what we were investing in. Totally unprofessional and honestly pathetic.
If you like wasting your time and getting played by the staff, this is your place. Otherwise, take your money somewhere that doesn’t openly screw over its customers.

While ordering our food my boyfriend had to choose four different times because every time he ordered the waitress would say they were out of that item (steak, chef salad) due to vendor issues. I ordered a burger and was asked how I would like it done to which I responded well done. As you can see from the picture it is far from well done (pretty much raw). When this was brought to our waitress’s attention she started that can only cook it a certain way. Why even ask how I want it done? Plus most well done eaters hate pink meat. The curteous thing to do would have been mentioning the pinkness before I ordered. The atmosphere is a bar like restaurant and very noisy.
