From the moment we walked in, we were greeted promptly with great energy and respect Our waitress was super polite, friendly, and attentive the entire time
We started with a large hibiscus tea served in a mason jar — clearly made in-house and insanely fresh, with a slight hint of lime . Hands down one of the best hibiscus teas I’ve had. Way better than the powdered versions most places use. I wouldn’t even be mad paying for refills — it’s THAT good.
Also ordered a Modelo , crudo shrimp (2 pieces ), Japanese peanuts, chamoy, and whatever that sauce was sitting at the bottom of the plate — probably one of their ceviche sauces because it was ridiculously tasty.
For entrees, my spouse got the Pork Belly AguaChile, and let me tell you… WOW Crispy, soft, and moist all at the same time with crazy flavor. It came with a generous portion of super fresh guacamole topped with julienned red onions and serrano peppers ️, plus 4 corn tortillas and a fresh salsa verde with the perfect kick. My spouse isn’t big on tortillas (she’s Thai ), so I happily made myself a few tacos
I ordered the Ceviche La Mamona — octopus cooked perfectly tender , ahi tuna that literally melted in my mouth , perfectly cooked shrimp , avocado, onion, cucumber, tomato, and that black sauce that ties everything together beautifully. This was easily the best ceviche I’ve ever had in my life I’ve never been to Mexico, but this is exactly what I imagine authentic ceviche should taste like — insanely fresh and balanced. They also give you crackers, tostadas, and two creamy salsas (habanero and jalapeño/serrano ️). I could’ve eaten this alone as a full meal.
If you’re looking for fresh food , generous portions ️, amazing service , and an overall great experience, this is the spot. Next visit I’m definitely trying the whole octopus , super tostada mixta, oyster preparado , queso flameado , fried oysters, and maybe even a molcajete
I love to eat — and every feast is an adventure. This one hit different
The food was delicious & came out fast. The staff was very friendly! I go the mixed fajitas & strawberry margarita & everything tastes so amazing!! I will definitely be back! 10/10 recommend
**Disorganized and Unprofessional – Poor Service All Around**
We came to Aguachiles hoping for a good time and left feeling disappointed and ignored.
When we arrived, we were greeted quickly by the hostess, which was a good start. But as soon as we asked for a menu, we were **coldly told to scan the QR code**, with no real explanation or patience. A few minutes later, we asked a simple question and got a **sarcastic, rude response**—totally uncalled for and unprofessional.
The **food and drinks were just okay**, nothing memorable. We had paid extra for a **birthday celebration**, but even that took forever. We had to keep reminding the staff, and when it finally happened, it felt rushed and half-hearted.
What made things worse was that the **manager and another assistant were just hanging out at the bar, laughing and chatting like everything was perfect**, while customers were waiting, confused, or clearly frustrated. No one seemed to be in charge or even trying to improve the situation.
When we asked for the bill, we were **suddenly rushed**, like they wanted us out as fast as possible. No “thank you,” no effort to make things right.
This place might look fun on social media, but the **service is careless, the staff lacks professionalism**, and management seems more interested in socializing than running a restaurant. Not worth the hype.
The place can get pretty loud due to the music, so it’s not the quietest spot, especially if you’re with a larger group (there might be a bit of a wait). Restrooms weren’t the cleanest during my visit, which was a small downside.
Other than that, the staff was friendly and the food came out fresh. It’s a solid spot for casual dining if you’re craving seafood and don’t mind a lively atmosphere.
