It is with great sadness that we must announce and let our trusted customers know that Great American Hamburger and Pie Co. at Pt. Richmond will be closing its doors permanently on April 11th, 2024, after 38 successful years of business.
We have been proud, happy, and tireless to serve our always fresh and reasonably priced food to the people of Richmond and the surrounding area. Our success for the past 38 years has been attributed solely to the soul of this community and the kindness of our customers.
However, two harsh years of Covid, high food inflation, and a recent ADA compliance lawsuit have taken its toll on our small family business.
We are thankful to all of you for supporting our business all these years.

This is one of Richmond’s “Gems”, almost 40 years as a family business making smiles with juicy burgers. Unfortunately, good help is very hard to find for Point Richmond and many business owners shed tears and sweat to bring it’s community quality and reliable service. Because of this, “GAH” is closed on weekends but deliver’s it’s finest masterpieces of burgers and sandwiches to the very lucky locals, visitors, and other bay area working class folks by the drove when they are in town. Fantastic Upgrades on Beef Quality and other Non-Burger Options. It is a must try when passing through for sure.

I’ve been wanting to come here for a long time. Finally had a chance to and I ordered the double mushroom burger with a side of onion rings. Service was fast and efficient. Burger was huge and the onion rings had a slight crunch to it, but well done on the inside. Definitely a hidden gem in Richmond.

For years after becoming a pescatarian, I really missed a good Patty melt. This hidden gem has thee BEST patty melt with an impossible burger! It took me right back to those memories and absolutely delicious. Their fries are delicious too. The owners are amazing too, whether I’m calling in or in person!
