Pros:
(1) Friendly staff
(2) Fairly lean brisket
(3) Pretty good onion rings (especially the number)
(4) They’ve got sound absorption tiles in the ceiling at least, and not just bare metal like a lot of places
Cons:
(1) Brisket was tough – seemed sort of like it was microwaved or sous vide, with maybe some quick charring on the outside
(2) The amount of brisket on my sandwich was maybe 3 or so long slices total – i feel it should be 33% or more
(3) Cole slaw was not good in my opinion – had hints of apple after taste – sort of sour and lingering in a bad way. It tasted light on sugar and mayonnaise

My girlfriend and I were introduced to Mr. P’z by a good friend of ours, and we’ve been back several times since. This review is an overall summary of all our visits.
The service is great. Upon entering, you’re greeted kindly and told to sit wherever you’d like. Once sat, we are approached by our server which is also kind and friendly. We haven’t had a single bad experience with any of the staff here.
Their happy hour is phenomenal. I typically will get Vodka Wells, and during their happy hour, Wells are $3. This has without a doubt been the lowest price for Wells out of everywhere I’ve been. On top of that, the drinks are strong, so you will likely be very pleased with the happy hour amongst the other menu options available during this time.
I’ve had several food items here to include Fried Pickles, Fried Mushrooms, Wings, Chicken Tenders, and Sliders. My absolute favorite out of these are the Wings. Our friends recommend we get them Charred which was an absolute game changer. These wings are crunchy, juicy, tender, and flavorful and when paired with a sauce of your choosing, it’s a blissful experience.
Overall, I truly enjoy Mr. P’z and will definitely be returning. I highly recommend everyone to come here and try out the different menu options.

Went on game day, wasn’t packed but still service was awful at the bar counter, inattentive busy girls. Food wasn’t good either, the greasiest onion rings I’ve ever seen.

Heard good things about this place so we decided to try it. Upon arrival the bartender/waitress was a bit unwelcoming and seemed irritated that I asked for napkins to wipe the dirty table and chairs. We ordered chicken wings well done with the sauce on the side, they came out crispy on the outside but slimy inside and tossed in sauce. The bbq nachos w/brisket were very good. My son ordered a burger and said it tasted weird, couldn’t finish it but the fries were good. My husband and I shared the 3 rib 2 meat plate and got the burnt ends and brisket with a side of Mac & Cheese. The entire meat platter was COLD. Not room temp, literally like it had just been taken out of the fridge! The ribs were tender but the flavor was just off for me, didn’t care for them. Brisket and burnt ends both seemed dry. The Mac was actually better tasting than it looked, but extremely cheesy. We were definitely a little disappointed in the service and food quality but might give them another chance in the future before crossing them off. We did like that happy hour goes until 6 with $2 beers and $2 wells!

The princess and I met friends here last night for a bite to eat. Easy to find with plenty of free parking. The weather was perfect to dine outside under the stars and enjoy some live music. Given the small crowd the service started out pretty slow but improved as the evening evolved. We enjoyed the band ,Green Shoe box, but the food, not so much. The hand cut french fries were excellent and everyone at the table enjoyed them. I ordered the BBQ Rangoon and the pulled pork sandwich. We shared the Rangoon and some of us like it but I was not one of them. The pulled pork sandwich was ok but not memorable. As I’ve said before it is not easy to stand out doing BBQ in Kansas City and if you’re going to try to compete here you had better be doing something special and do it better than everyone else.

Love checking out places to eat and came across this gem. There are plenty of food options so they should have almost anything you are looking for. They also have daily specials and different entertainment almost every night. There is live music on Friday nights to enjoy. Food wise, had to try the steak special and it came out perfect. Wife chose barbecue and that was amazing. Their brisket is something you have to try.

Love the food here. Not traditional bar food, absolutely the best bar food I’ve had. We have been there 3 times in one week.

AMAZING food!! Devasted we don’t live anywhere close to Overland Park. Tonight we ordered the pork nachos, hot pretzels with queso, and the 2 meat dinner and ALL of it was awesome! The staff was fun and the music was great. We will definitely come back when we’re in the area.

Good atmosphere, friendly staff, & a great menu to choose from. I discovered this place through a promotion for KC Burger Week. I’d say it was a little on the pricier side for the normal menu, but then again everything’s going up in price these days. I did not take a picture of the outdoor patio, but they have a great outdoor section as well. Give them a try, I think you will be pleased.

Our evening at Mr. P’z Bar & Grill was a blast! The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, like instantly joining a big family. It felt like stepping into an episode of Cheers – a place where everybody knows your name! Then the good vibes kicked up even further with none other than Dr. Bones himself starting kicking it yo!
